we are looking for the value of x.
Given,
x/y = 2
x = 2y.
So, we need to know the value of y to get the value of x.
Statement 1: 1< y < 5.
Range of values is given. no specific value for y.
NOT sufficient.
Statement 2: y is odd.
Clearly NOT sufficient.
Combining :
y = 2, 3 , 4
here only odd value of y is 3.
Sufficient .
The best answer is C.
