IMO C

Statement 1 - "x equals 3 and y equals 4" is incorrect.
If x can be 1 and y can be 6 then (x + y) will be 7 - Yes
If x=1 and Y =1 then (x + y) will be 2 - No

Statement 2 Either x equals 3 or y equals 4.

X= 3 and y = 2 then (x + y) = 5 - No
x=3 and y = 4 then (x + y ) =7 - Yes

Combining statement 1 and 2

If x = 3 (statement2) then y can't be 4 (statement 1)
Implies (x + y) can't be 7. - Definite No

If y = 4 (statement2) then x can't be 3 (statement 1)
Implies ( x + y) can't be 7. - Definite No

Is \(x + y = 7\)?

(1) The sentence \(“x = 3\) and \(y = 4”\) is incorrect.

(2) Either \(x\) equals 3 or \(y\) equals 4.
