If x, y, and z are three integers, are they consecutive integers?

(1) x − z = 2
(2) x − y = y − z = 1


For 3 integers to be consecutive integers, the difference between the 2 consecutive pairs needs to be 1
For example: 1,2,3: Difference 1,2 = 1; Difference 2,3 = 1

(1) x − z = 2

If x=3, y=2, z=1, Then YES, Consecutive Integers
If x=3, y=10, z=1, Then NO, not consecutive integers

NOT SUFFICIENT

(2) x − y = y − z = 1

This implies that firstly x > y > z and difference between x and y as well as difference between y and z is equal to 1
Which means that x and y are consecutive integers; Which also means that y and z are consecutive integers
Thus, x, y, z are CONSECUTIVE INTEGERS

SUFFICIENT
