Does w - v = 0?
(1) w² - v² = 0
(2) wv < 0
Question Is w = v
Statement 1
(w+v)(w-v) = 0
Implies w - v = 0, or w + v = 0
Hence the statement is not sufficient.
Statement 2
wv < 0
This implies that w & v have opposite signs. If the numbers have opposite signs, then they are not equal to each other.
Hence St2 is sufficient.
IMO B
