Statement 1:
Two years less than twice Ben’s age is equal to twice of Erin’s age 3 years ago.
so, 2b - 2 = 2 ( e - 3)
=> 2b - 2 = 2e - 6
=> 2e = 2b + 4
Insufficient
Statement 2:
Twice of Erin’s age is 4 more than twice of Ben’s age.
so, 2e = 4 + 2b -> which is same as got from statement 1
Insufficient.
When we club both together:
Both gives same result. So Insufficient
Hence, neither options are sufficient.
Hence, option E
