In an adventure sports club, Silver class membership is awarded to those who have participated in only one of the following activities: sky diving or rappelling. Given - Silver class membership is awarded to those who have participated in only one of the following activities: sky diving or rappelling.

A=Sky diving & B=Rapelling, Silver = n(A) + n(B) - 2*n(A∩B) and Gold = n(A∩B)
To find - If a total of 150 members are enrolled in the club, how many out of these are Silver Class members?
n(AUB) = 150
1st - The total number of members who have participated in skydiving is 45.
n(A) = 45,
As n(AUB) = n(A) + n(B) - n(A∩B)
Therefore only Rappling i.e. n(B) - n(A∩B) = n(AUB) - n(A) = 150 - 45 = 105.
From this we cant calculate n(A∩B) Hence Not sufficient.
2nd - The total number of members who have not participated in skydiving is 105.
Means, only Rappling n(B) - n(A∩B) = 105 which is same we got from statement 1 Hence Not sufficient.
And as they both give same result together as well they are not sufficient. Answer E.
