We are given Quarterly Bonus (B) = 0.2*Quarterly Wage (W)
W = Wo+Wn+Wd (Wage of October+November+December)

Also, Wd = 15+Wo....(i)

(1) The ratio of the salesman's wage in October to that in November is 9:8

Gives us us Wn = 8/9*Wo....(ii)

Combining (i) and (ii) we get:

Wo+Wo+15+8/9*Wo = Total Wages....(iii)

However, in order to find out total wages, we need to have Wo.
Hence not sufficient

(2) The ratio of wages for November and December is 6:8

This gives us Wn/Wd = 6/8......(iv)
Wd = 8/6*Wn......(v)

We cannot find out total wages, hence insufficient.

Combining (1) and (2)
We get

Wd = 15+Wo
Wn = 8/9*Wo

and we have been given Wn/Wd = 6/8

Hence:
(8/9*Wo)/(15+Wo) = 6/8
Solving, we get:
Wo= 81
Hence, Wn = 8/9*Wo, Wn = 72
And, Wd = 15+Wo, Wd = 96

Hence Total Wage = 249
Hence Bonus = 20%* 249 = 49.8

The question can however be simpler in clarifying wither the bonus are paid once in 3 months. Additionally, the ratios given are of wages and not of Wage+ Bonus. I have assumed them to be ratios of Wages, hope I am not wrong in such assumption.
Hence IMO Ans C

- Bonus = 20% of total wages for Oct (O), Nov (N), Dec (D)
- D = O + 15 (December wage is 15 more than October)
- Bonus = 0.20 * (O + N + D)

Statement (1): O/N = 9/8 → O = (9/8) * N
Statement (2): N/D = 6/8 → N = (3/4) * D

Step 1: Substitute into the total wage equation:
- O = (9/8) * (3/4) * D = (27/32) * D
- N = (3/4) * D

Step 2: Total wages = O + N + D
- Total = (27/32) * D + (24/32) * D + (32/32) * D = (83/32) * D

Step 3: Bonus = 0.20 * Total wages = (83/160) * D

Step 4: Solve for D using D = O + 15:
- D = (27/32) * D + 15 → 32D = 27D + 480 → 5D = 480 → D = 96

Step 5: Calculate the Bonus:
- Bonus = (83/160) * 96 = 50.16

Conclusion: Both statements (1) and (2) are necessary to determine the bonus.

Answer: (E) Both statements are needed
