Is the average age of the students taking SAT greater than 22?

Let's try Calculate less and think more (Been trying to save more time on questions)

(1) Out of the 100 test takers, 92 student's average is 14.

We know majority of students are younger than 22( i.e 14).
Hence in order to make the average move towards 22, the ages of remaining 8 students should be way more than 14. (No need to calculate, but to be precise, it would require them to be 114 years old).
As there is no upper bound on students' age, this is alos possible, and lower ages are also possible.
Hence not sufficient.

(2) The oldest test taker is 24 years old.

This only gives us the age of 1 student, which again leaves us with several combinations availalble.

(1) and (2)

Using the info from (1), we have an upper bound for ages. Hence , the max age of the 8 remaining will be 24. Hence, it would be impossible for the average to go beyond 24.

Hence Ans IMO C
