(1) Drone Z took more than 4 hours to complete the trip.
Clearly insufficient.
(2) Drone Z traveled a total of 480 kilometers during the trip.
Clearly insufficient.
(1)+(2) If the trip covered 480 km in more than 4 hours, then the average speed was below 120 km/h. But that still doesn’t answer whether Drone Z ever exceeded 120 km/h at any point. Even with an average below 120, it’s possible that the speed exceeded 120 for part of the trip. Not sufficient.

Statement (1) and Statement (2) individually are not sufficient to answer the question as to calculate speed we need information on distance and time taken.

Note: The question says "did Drone Z ever exceed a speed of 120 kilometers per hour"
480/4 will give us the average speed, we will not be able to conclusively tell whether the drone ever exceeded the speed of 120 kmph.
For example, in the first hour the drone could have travelled at a speed of 200 kmph and then slowed down and completed the rest of the trip, say in the next 10 hours. Alternatively the drone could have travelled at a constant speed which was less than 120 kmph all throughout the journey.
Hence, the statements combined don't help either to answer the question asked.
