Let's say the weights of largest and smallest fishes are L and S
L = S + 4------------(A)
(1) If the largest fish were 6 ounces heavier, it would weigh twice as much as the smallest fish.
Sufficient
L + 6 = 2S----------(B)
We can solve using (A) and (B)
(2) The six fish average 14 ounces in weight.
Insufficient, there can be numerous possibilities here. Also, we don't know whether their weights follow any sequence so can't use any specific formula to find smallest fish's weight.
Hence, (A) is the answer.

- Largest fish = S + 4

So:
- (S + 4) + 6 = 2S
- This gives a clear equation involving only S.
- We can solve for S from this.
