Hi Vimal,

With 5 years of experience my suggestion would be a full-time MBA degree. In fact many, though not all, Exec programs have a requirement of more work experience than 5 years. But you may want to research one year full-time MBA degrees, as there are a number of schools that do offer them, both in the US, and quite a number in Europe and other countries. That might make the most sense if you are focused on getting the degree done more quickly. As for a focus or major (such as finance), it is not critical to choose right now per se, BUT if you know for sure an area you are most focused on, then it does make sense to look at schools well known in that area.

Hi Jen,

Thanks for reply again.

As I have spent some time on net visiting forum and asking questions, I now realize that there are also 1 year full time program.
BY the way, Nyenrode Business University in Netherlands is offering 1 year full time Intentional MBA Program. I searched the net and couldn't find much about Nyenrode Business University, except their own website and some websites here and there.

So, Could you please advice me on
1) How good a college is Nyenrode Business University.
2) Will doing 1 year full time Intentional MBA Program, suit me or my IT background.
3) Whats kind of jobs do Intentional MBA Program grads get?
4) How does and Intentional MBA Program fair against programs like product management, project management, program management, and IT consulting, business development, which are much closely related to IT.

Thanks for your time again.

Hi there,

To get a feel for the global reputation of schools around the world, you could use the Financial Times MBA rankings as a starting point, perhaps. https://rankings.ft.com/businessschoolra ... nking-2014. As for Nyenrode, it is not part of that top 50; to get a feel for the reputation among the types of companies YOU are interested in working for, you may want to contact recruiters at those companies and discuss with them. Or professionals working in the type of role you see yourself in. I have heard of the school, when I was working with b-school applicants in London.

I believe you are asking about "international" MBA degrees? As opposed to 'intentional'? I'm not 100% sure I'm following all of your lines of questioning... keep in mind that an MBA is a fairly standard degree. Yes you can choose a 'specialization' within the degree, at most but not all schools... but it's generally expected that you have studied general management an a common group of subjects in business & management if you have the MBA degree. The option to specialize is just that-- an option at a lot of schools, and then you can list that and focus on that in your resume and job interviews if you choose to, OR you can just leave it as "MBA" and that is fine too. At various schools, 1 year or 2, you can still choose from a variety of specializations again if desired, and I encourage you to research the programs through their own websites. Hope that helps some!
