Hi
venbiv,
First, congratulations! Those are fabulous offers, and it's a really tough call. I agree that neither are usually considered social impact schools but as large, top programs, I'm sure both have resources in these areas and students who pursue these careers. I assume you've chatted with students / recent alumni pursuing social impact careers? If not, I think that would be very helpful to your decision. First, I would think about what area of social impact you're interested in - more on the investing side, non-profit, tech, etc.? By narrowing, you may find one of the two schools has a slightly better reputation or set of resources/courses. Next, I'd think about location. A huge plus of CBS is being in NYC and if that's important to you, I think it's reasonable to forgo the Wharton network for that. I also think CBS being new to The Consortium is great and having that network would be helpful, especially in pursuing social impact roles which can be harder to come by. Lastly, do you like the students/people you've met at one program more? If you vibe more with one over the other, that's a good sign. You really can't go wrong with either choice here so I think it will come down to small factors like these things I mentioned. Best of luck to you!

Hello!
I am very, very fortunate to have been accepted to CBS with a full ride and to Wharton with a $120k scholarship. I work in education and plan to pursue a social impact role post-MBA. To my knowledge, neither school is very 'social impact'-focused, so I am not sure which program to pursue. Also, my CBS scholarship is through The Consortium, which opens up that network and the possibility to make internship contacts the summer before I start at business school. It's very attractive to me to have access to both CBS and The Consortium network, but I don't know if they are worth more than the Wharton network.
Any advice? I'd greatly appreciate it!
Thank you!
