I’m not 100% sure but my instinct is this relates to the CBS switch for fall entry from rolling to rounds. The big early deadline used to be in early October and now R1 is about one month earlier. The transition has been chaotic, supposedly over admitting R1, tons of waitlisted candidates right now from R2 (one of my own clients was told in R1 she was not waitlisted (?) but they need to see R2 to decide if they want to interview (thankfully she got into Booth & Kellogg MMM outright) So all this to say I’m sure they want to get a read on things earlier in hopes of doing better with all this. Could also be it’s going to be a smaller J term cohort altogether given how impacted they are for class of 2026.

Is there a reason the J-term deadlines for 2025 intake are sooner than previous years? I know they changed the process to rounds but the application was always due mid September - early October. This year, the round 2 deadline is mid August...
