A bowl contains G and B chips. What is the probability of drawing a B chip in two successive trials (without replacement)?

1. The ratio of B to G is 3:4
2. There are 5 more G than B chips


I go for C too...

was tempted to pick st1. on first glance but need to remember that u need to subtract away 1 and not from a reduced ratio, but original amt

3/4 = 15/20 is not equal to
2/4 = 14/20

Couldn't it be A? (I thought it was at first) No, it can't...

The smallest number of chips it could be is
3:4. or 6:8, or 9:12, or 12:16, or 15:20
The ratio does matter however, using A only:
probably of choosing 2 B chips in a row: (3/7)(2/6)=1/7.

Let's say we choose C, so it is definitely 15:20
(15/35)(14/34) = 210/1190 = 21/119 = 3/17
