1. Because CRT monitors are considered durable and long-lasting, many experts believe that they will continue to sell readily. But who cares about durability these days? In the modern world where technological advancements are exponential, computer equipment is updated every other year while the need for its mobility is becoming ever urgent. LCD monitors are lighter than CRTs and are more practical.

The bolded sentences perform which of the following functions in the argument?

A: the first is the contention to be disproved while the second is the evidence that is used to disprove this contention
B: the first is the consideration against the author’s main position while the second is this position

after the first bold face sentence many experts believe that they will continue to sell readily, author states "But who cares about durability these days?"
Hence author is refuting or disagreeing with the statement. The second bold face sentence is the evidence that support y author disapproves with the first one

Therefor Correct answer is C
