Hello, I didn't understand the answer choice C of the question 3,
Quote:
C. To provide a historical perspective on different
approaches to the resolution of the cost-ofliving
issue
what does it mean? the only approach that I can see is the approach of the women, and we don't know if the boycott approach reached is goal.. so we don't know if the cost of living issue is being solved

(Q1)
The author suggests which of the following about
the New York Socialists’ commitment to the costof-
living movement?
A. It lasted for a relatively short period of time. Time period is not mentioned so could not infer this statement
B. It was stronger than their commitment to the
Suffrage struggle.No comparison state
C. It predated the cost-of-living protests that
Erupted in 1917.The passage clearly mention that" By early 1917 the Socialist
party had established itself as a major political presence in New
York City"....so wont infer this

D. It coincided with their attempts to bring more
Women into union organizing."seized the
(opportunity and quickly organized
an extensive series of cost-ofliving
protests designed to direct
the women’s movement toward
Socialist goals" this state clearly mentioned the ideas are coincided.

E. It explained the popularity of the Socialist
party in New York City. No mention of popularity rather they more interested in

(Q3)
Which of the following best states the function of the
passage as a whole?
A. To contrast the views held by the Socialist party
and by the boycotting women of New York City
on the cost-of-living issue. "Mentioned in one para" so wont be the main idea
B. To analyze the assumptions underlying opposing
viewpoints within the New York Socialist
party of 1917.Though different View point mentioned cant serve the main idea.
C. To provide a historical perspective on different
approaches to the resolution of the cost-ofliving
issue. Different approaches are discussed here so correct.
D. To chronicle the sequence of events that led
to the New York Socialist party’s emergence
as a political power..No mention
E. To analyze the motivations behind the Socialist
party’s involvement in the women’s suffrage
movement No real motive being demonstrated

Some expert please help me to analyse Q 2 and Q 4 as both of them wrong according to OA..
What is the level of the passage as I got 2/4 correct...

Rgds
