What is OA for this question? E?

OA is C

(C) considered by many to be an outlet for stress and requiring

In the first look, I couldn't find why would "requiring" be there with "and" in C. But now I think C is better than E because of "That, requiring.." in E.

My elimination explanations.

Although it gained notoriety after 2001, when it was featured in several popular movies, white-collar boxing, a workout considered by many to be an outlet for stress and that requires both discipline and agility, has actually been increasing in popularity since the early 1990s, when a large number of professionals joined blue-collar gyms, like Gleason's in Brooklyn, one of the oldest boxing gyms in the U.S.

(A) considered by many to be an outlet for stress and that requires - "requiring" more preferable here
(B) considered by many to be an outlet for stress and that, requiring - "that," - redundant here
(C) considered by many to be an outlet for stress and requiring - less wordy and more correct as for me
(D) that is considered by many to be an outlet for stress and it requires - "that is" redundant here
(E) that is considered by many to be an outlet for stress and that, requiring
- "that is" redundant here

isnt considered to be wrong ? All options has that...
a workout considered.............is an appostive phrase and "that requires " is relative clause.. so whats wrong in having both

Well let me punch in my share of the bout; The reason that C is correct is because of a single factor of grammar. The appositive modifier starting from ‘a workout considered by many to be an outlet for stress and that requires both discipline and agility” is a compound modifier which is supposed to maintain //ism in structure and meaning between or among all its components. In the text, the first part is represented by a past participle ‘considered’ and the second is expressed by a present tense verb ‘requires’. C corrects this error by simply replacing ‘requires’ with ‘requiring’. All other choices fault on that score.
