This is a bar graph of Facebook's revenue growth from the beginning of 2010 to the end of 2011. The left axis corresponds with the bars illustrating Facebook's revenue in millions. The right axis illustrates the year over year quarterly revenue growth rate beginning in the quarter ending March 2011.
Use the drop-down menus to fill in the blanks in each of the following statements based on the information on the chart.
1. Facebook earned more in 2011 than it did in 2010.
2. Facebook's revenue for the Mar'12 quarter would have to be if the year over year growth for that quarter is at 50%.
1)B, Facebook earned in 2010~ 370+420+480+720=$1990M,while it's earning in 2011~ 720+880+940+1100=$3640M,hence the difference between both the values is 3640-1990=1650,which is close to $1.7B.
2)A,since for March 2011 the revenue was ~$720M,so with 50% growth the final value should be 720*1.5=1080~ $1.1B
1)The answer has to be B, Facebook in 2010 earned ~ 380+410+480+730=2000 and in 2011 it approximately earned ~ 1100+950+870+750= 3670 . Therefore, the difference is 3670-2000= 1670 which is ~ $1.7B.
2)The answer has to be A, Facebook's revenue in March 2011 was approximately 710, if the year on year quarterly growth is 50% then March 2012 revenue will be ~ 150*710/100 = $1065 which is ~ $1.1B.
