really? I must be blind haha. Because the first time I took it kept feeling like I was running out writing room compared to what I had at home. I must have been losing it that day....

Compare apples to apples:

Practice test at home:
No test center
known/comfortable environment
ability to "pause"
etc

GMAT day:
Stressed out
Little things can set you off
You notice shortcomings like whoa
etc

They are close in size.

yeah idk i was probably a little stressed. this is a big test for me, im just trying to narrow the list of things that could pose as potential distractions.

granted that most of the time the actual GMAT more than likely won't be 100% exactly as planned but I do try :-)
