Drew Hoff is for the underdogs!

When I first reached out to Drew, I had already spoken to five other consultants, each of whom told me I was aiming too high. One even said, “I can help you, but you’ll have to remove INSEAD.”

As someone with an overrepresented profile and a low GMAT/GRE score, I felt hopeless. I was targeting top-tier European business schools such as INSEAD, HEC Paris, and Oxford, but was on the verge of giving up my 2024 applications altogether.

Then I met Drew. And everything changed.

Unlike other consultants, Drew was confident we could get into two out of my three target schools. That was the first real encouragement I had received. Our initial call lasted a full hour—far longer than the standard 30-minute intros with other consultants. From that first conversation, it was clear: Drew goes all in.

He broke down how schools prioritize what they want and how we could position my essays and personal story to align with those expectations. Unlike others who asked endless questions only to tell me my goals were unrealistic, Drew quickly identified a viable path forward.

Once I signed on, we got to work. Drew provided custom strategy memos for each school, outlining deadlines, essay approaches, and what admissions committees were looking for. Every time I had doubts or questions, he was available for a call—no hesitation. He even provided sample essays when I needed guidance.

Our essay process was rigorous. We went through three to four rounds of revisions per essay, reviewing everything together on calls instead of just receiving documents with comments. Then came what I call the “Drew Magic”—his final refinements that made my essays shine while preserving my authentic voice. He never rewrote my story—just elevated it.

Beyond his expertise, Drew was an unwavering source of support. He never pressured me with deadlines; instead, he planned ahead so I always had extra time. When crunch time hit, he worked weekends to ensure we stayed on track.

When I started receiving interview invites, Drew was my first text. He made time for last-minute mock interviews and even took calls just to calm me down when nerves took over. Fun fact: One time, he spent over 15 minutes just reassuring me!

The moment I got into HEC Paris and INSEAD, Drew was the one who suggested, “You’ve already made it to two top schools—why not try Wharton?” That push meant the world to me. I didn’t get in, but the fact that Drew believed in my potential—when every other consultant dismissed me—made all the difference.

For someone with an overrepresented profile, unconventional background, and a low GMAT/GRE score, my only strengths were strong career progression and international experience. Thanks to Drew’s expertise, support, and commitment, I made it to HEC Paris and INSEAD. I truly couldn’t have done it without him.
