When 1/7 is above then the remaining 1 - 1/7 = 6/7 is below. Then the ratio = (1/7) : (6/7) = 1/6
When 1/8 is above then the remaining 1 - 1/8 = 7/8 is below. Then the ratio = (1/8) : (7/8) = 1/7
Therefore the ratio is between 1/6 and 1/7.

Between \(\frac{1}{7}\) and \(\frac{1}{8}\) of the iceberg floats above the surface of the water: Between 12.5 % and 14.28%
=> \(\frac{(12.5 + 14.28)}{ 2}\) = 13.39%
Under the surface [100 - 12.5 = 87.5 and 100 - 14.28 = 85.7]: Between 87.5 % and 85.7%
=> \(\frac{(87.5 + 85.7)}{ 2}\) = 86.6%
The ratio of the part of the iceberg above the surface and under the surface: \(\frac{13.39 }{ 86.6}\) = 15.4%
=> 15.4 % will be between \(\frac{1}{6}\) and \(\frac{1}{7}\) [16.6 % and 14.28%]
