Hi,

I have a question to a GMATPrep question - I feel like this shouldn't be difficult, but I can't figure out what to factor out of this problem to simplify it [The answer is 10]

(1001^2-999^2)/(101^2-999^2)

I wanted to factor out 10^2 but don't see how that works. Anyway, any help would be appreciated!

Thanks

Sorry, the denominator was wrong, should read

(1001^2-999^2)/(101^2-99^2)

just remember the simple algebra formula

a^2-b^2=(a+b)(a-b)

and this q will be a piece of cake
