Hi hudacse6,

Let me help you with simple case, Take x = 100, and y =200
To calculate percentage increase from x to y: \(\frac{(y-x)}{x}*100 => \frac{200-100}{100} = \frac{100}{100}*100\) => 100% or we can say doubled. Similarly we can 250% is 2.5 times.

Increased by 250% means: Addition of another 250% over existing 100% OR 1+2.5, We get 350% or 3.5 times.

Now solve the above Ques:

(250% of x) is increased by 250% = 350

3.5(2.5(x)) = 350 => On solving we get x= 40

Hope it helps!

(250% of x) is increased by 250% = 350

3.5(2.5(x)) = 350 => On solving we get x= 40

Actually point to point [ (250% of x) is increased by 250% = 350 ] => \(2.5\)\(x\) \((3.5)\) =\( 350\) , I'm i correct ?

=> 250% of x = \(\frac{250}{100} * x = \frac{5}{2} * x\)

=> is increased by 250% = 100 + 250 = 350% * \( \frac{5}{2} * x\)

=> to become 350 => \(\frac{350}{100} * \frac{5}{2} * x = 350\)

=> What is the value of x => \(x = \frac{350 * 100 * 2 }{ 350 * 5} = 40\)

Answer B

250% of x is increased by 250% to become 350. What is the value of x?

(A) 20
(B) 40
(C) 250
(D) 350
(E) 550
\(\frac{250x}{100}*\frac{350}{100} = 350\)

So, \(\frac{x}{10}*\frac{1}{4} = 1\)

Or, \(x = 40\), Answer will be (B)
