Most primates are immune to feline rhinovirus, but a specific group, this being the golden macaques, are highly susceptible to the organism.

(A) a specific group, this being the golden macaques, are highly susceptible to -- S-V error + modifier is bad.

(B) a specific group, the golden macaques, is highly susceptible to -- correct

(C) one group, specifically golden macaques, is highly susceptible of --- first we are saying one group then we are trying to pointing out golden macaques (GM) by specifically, that looks redundant. -- further susceptible to > susceptible of.

(D) a specific group, the golden macaques, which are highly susceptible to -- Fragmented sentence.
(E) a specific group, the golden macaques, which are highly susceptible of -- Fragmented sentence.

The main subject of the sentence is 'one specific group' which is singular.

without checking anything else, we can eliminate A,D,E since they all have plural verb ' are susceptible' .. So we are left with B &C

in option C, we have " one group, specifically golden macaques" .. We do not need to mention specific when we have only one group anyway. Usage of specific here is redundant. besides 'susceptible of' doesn't sound right. Option B is best
