OK, 80/80 be it. His breakdown (77/98) is very close to that. Plus he is from the so called "indian IT pool" which should imply a good quantitative background. Meaning, even though his quant score is not within the 80+ range, his background should well make up for it? On the other hand, a 98% on verbal by a non-native speaker is quite impressive. As, I think, is his overall score.
In other words, we all know that most "indian IT pool" members have a solid quantitative background. But how many of them have a V45?
Of course, I might be wrong. It seems that you have been around for longer. Also, I don't base my conclusions on knowledge as much as I do on pure logic considering the basic admissions criteria we are all familiar with.
