A driver makes a trip of 266 miles. If the driver's average speed is 63 miles per hour for the first two hours of the trip and 70 miles per hour for the rest of the trip, how long did the second part of the trip take?

A. 1 hours

B. 2 hours

C. 2.5 hours

D. 3 hours

E. 3.5 hours

Distance travelled in first 2 hours is 63*2 = 126 Miles ; Hence 140 Miles are left

Time required for next 2 Hours is 140/70 = 2 Hour, Answer must be (B)

Re: A driver makes a trip of 266 miles. If the driver's average speed is 6 [#permalink]
First leg: \(\frac{63mi}{hr}\)*2 hr =126 mi
Distance remaining: 266-126=140 mi remaining
Final leg: \(\frac{140mi}{70mi/hr}\)=2 hr
Ans=B
