A flush in poker is defined as all 5 cards being of the same suit . There are four suits: spades , diamonds , clubs and hearts - all of which there are 13 of in a standard deck of 52 cards . How many ways are there to draw a flush ?

I think, the number of ways is the possible number of flush for one suit, multiply that by 4 since there are 4 suits
since order is not important, we use combinations.
agree with answer 5148, slightly different way to do it. There are five cards to draw. The first can be anything, so there are 52 choices. Once the first one is drawn, the next ones must all be of the same suit, so there are 12 left for the second card, 11 for the third, 10 for the fourth, and 9 for the fifth.
That looks like: 52x12x11x10x9
now divide that by 5! since the order doesn't matter. Cancel everything out (don't do the multiplication till the end!) and the answer is 5148.
