Bunuel, the question asks "by how many different integers can B be equally divided?"
What is the relevance of equally divided ? That phrase completely threw me off. I understand that the number has 4 factors, 1, a, a^2, a^3.
Is the language of this question something we can expect in an official test ?

In this context, "equally divided," sometimes phrased as "evenly divided," simply means "divisible." So, the question is essentially asking: "By how many different positive integers is B divisible?" I agree, the wording could be clearer. Fixed the issue in the original post.
