In next 24 months he saved $ 10 more than he saved in previous month.

10...20....30.......40........50...........so on

10 ( 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 5 .............+24)

10( 25*12)

= 3000

The best answer is C.

Another aproach would be to use Arithmetic Progression (AP).

The Sum of an AP is given by \(= \frac{n}{2} (2a + (n-1)d)\)

\(= \frac{24}{2} (2*10 + (24-1)10)\)

\(= 12*(20+230)\)

\(= 3000\)

first month he saved 10 next 20 third 30 ............. on 24th month he saves 240.

we know [first term + last term/2] * number of terms in the sequence
10+240/2*24

The amount saved each month is an equally-spaced set: {10, 20, 30, 40, …, 240}. The amount of money saved in the first month is $10 and the amount saved in the 24th month is 10 x 24 = $240.

For an evenly-spaced set, the average of all items in the set is the average of the first and last values in the set. Thus, the average saved is (10 + 240)/2 = $125 per month. Since there are 24 months in the two-year period, he saved a total of 125 x 24 = $3000.

Answer: C
