A new wing is to be added to a certain hospital, creating 50 additional beds. What will be the new ratio of doctors to beds if no new doctors are hired?
(1) The ratio of doctors to beds is currently 1 to 20.
Ratio is given and we are given 50 additional beds. Insufficient because:
Let's say there was only 1 doctor and 20 beds before, now the new ratio will be 1 to 70.
Let's say there was 2 doctor and 40 beds before (keeping the ratio 1 to 20 same), now the new ratio will be 2 to 90 -> 1 to 45.

(2) There are currently 19 doctors employed by the hospital.
This is clearly insufficient as we do not have any information of the old ratio

Combining both statements:
We get 19 doctors, hence the beds before adding 50 bed is - 380 ( ration 1 to 20 or 19 to 380)
New ratio will be 19 to 430 ... 'C' is the winner

Q. d/b' or d/(b+50)?, where: d=no. of doctor, b'= future number of beds, b= current number of beds
(1) d/b=1/20
If d=1,b=20, then d/(b+50)=1/70.
If d=2,b=40, then d/(b+50)=2/90.
