A triangle has angles in the ratio of 3:8:9 respectively. What is the measure of the largest angle?

A. 27

B. 72

C. 81

D. 99

E. 153

Let the unknown measure of angle be \(= x\)

Ratio of angles \(= 3 : 8 : 9\)

\(3x + 8x + 9x = 20x\)

Angles in a triangle add to \(180^{\circ}\).

\(20x = 180\)

\(x = \frac{180}{20} = 9\)

Therefore measure of largest angle is;

\(9x = 9*9 = 81\)

Measure of the largest angle \(= 81^{\circ}\)
