A comma should be used after than
B "as gifted as" is the correct structure
C no mistake
D being is usually not correct
E being is usually not correct

This was my fast process.

I am worried about "and not published his poetry" in C. It doesn't seem correct.

The correct answer is A.
1. as .... as that is idiomatic - that leaves us with A and C.
2. In C that comma usage is incorret because it doesn't make make any sense : Although he is as gifted as, if not more gifted than, many of his colleagues
It is clear that original sounds more precise and makes sense

I could not get any clue, I searched the forum then, and in-fact found that the option C is missing
"will".

(C) Although he is as gifted as, if not more gifted than, many of his colleagues, he is extremely modest and will not publish his poetry.

If we put "will" option C is the best.

OA is C.

Unplugged, can you give the expanation for C? I don't understand the part "...not published ...."

Shouldn't it be "....and has not published is poetry" as the sentence uses 'is'. We need the present tense further down the sentence.

Buddy, I think the question has 'will' in choice C

Although he is as gifted as, if not more gifted than, many of his colleagues, he is extremely modest and his poetry is unpublished.

(A) Although he is as gifted as, if not more gifted than, many of his colleagues, he is extremely modest and his poetry is unpublished.
(B) Although he is as gifted, if not more gifted, than many of his colleagues, he is extremely modest and with his poetry remaining unpublished.
(C) Although he is as gifted as, if not more gifted than, many of his colleagues, he is extremely modest and will not publish his poetry.
(D) Despite his being gifted, if not more gifted than his colleagues, he is extremely modest and will not publish his poetry.
(E) Being a gifted as, or more gifted than, many of his colleagues, he is extremely modest and his poetry is unpublished.

The source is 1000SC and the question no. is 82. Agree with gmatavenue's explanation

Cheers,
Unplugged
