An ant walks an average of 500 meters in 12 minutes. A beetle walks 15% less distance at the same time on the average. Assuming the beetle walks at her regular rate, what is its speed in km/h?

A. 2.215.

B. 2.5.

C. 2.775.

D. 3.2.

E. 3.5.

Bunuel , I, too, calculate the answer as 2.125 km/hr. I think there might be a typo in answer A.

Ant: \(\frac{500m}{12min}\)

Beetle walks 15 percent less distance in same time. (500 * .85 ) = 425 m

Beetle: \(\frac{425m}{12min} *\frac{60min}{1hr}*

\frac{1km}{1000m}\) =

\(\frac{425}{200}\) = 2.125 km/hr

Answer A?
