its B...
we can see that 323 is prime and hence by factorising it, we get only 17 and 19. ( NO need to know that they are primes.)
since X>y, X should be 19 and Y= 17.

OA is C and I agree. This is an old challenge question posted by Praet. Although 17, 19 are perfect, there will be some real numbers which will fit the criteria also.

what are the examples, other than 19 and 17, that satisfy the equation?

Dan - There can be many sets of X and Y. Here is an example

X = (323/10) , Y = (323/26)


So, as usual, newkid and Paul are right :) C should be the answer
