A few uses of As much as in the popular media. Are these correct? If not then, why?

1. Why HDTV prices don't matter as much as you thought?
2. CO2 output from shipping is twice as much as airlines.
3. Young girls are using tobacco almost as much as boys in many cities.
4. Can a cloud weigh as much as a 747?

How does the comparison principles apply to this particular idiom 'as much as'??

this one looks fine.
"Why HDTV prices don't matter as much as you thought they did" is a more extended version, i guess

2. CO2 output from shipping is twice as much as airlines.
this one is ambiguous. "CO2 output from shipping is twice as much as output from airlines." makes more sense.

3. Young girls are using tobacco almost as much as boys in many cities.
this one is def ambiguous - girls aren't using boys!
Could be "Young girls are using tobacco almost as much as are boys in many cities."

4. Can a cloud weigh as much as a 747?
looks fine. Could also be "Can a cloud weigh as much as does a 747?"
How does the comparison principles apply to this particular idiom 'as much as'??
