If b and c are positive numbers and (1/b)=(b/c)=(c/8) , then b + c =

From the equation you have
1. 1/b = b/c => b^2=c
2. 1/b=c/8 So bc = 8

From 1 and 2 you have b^3 = 8 or b = 2
Substitute this in 2 and you have c=4

b+c=6
