I just finished my interview with an alum and it was exactly what I expected it to be... no curve balls. The interview lasted about 40-45 minutes and it was a friendly chat. I guess he had a list of questions on him that he needed to ask, but the conversation flowed organically. Here's a bunch of questions that were asked:

- Tell me about yourself
- Tell me about your current role at work
- Why MBA
- Why Duke
- Tell me about some constructive feedback that you received
- Tell me about the time you showed your leadership skills (in and out of work)
- What do you think makes a team successful
- What is your role in a team
- What kind of a leader are you
- What are your career plans
- What makes you think this is the right time for an MBA

Hope this helps all you guys who are yet to interview. PM me if you need any more help!

Totally agree with you. Plus, I don't think you will end up saving that much at all. It's just a few weeks versus 3-5 years you already spent at work. For me, I started the first assignment at my company on a Jun 23rd and I really want to resign with three complete years on the note. But still, I think I will end up leaving earlier.

Doubt it. All interviews for Duke happen during the same 7-10 day window, and based on the trends the last few years, interview invites are all sent on the day listed by Duke which is Nov. 20th.

With Duke, there was an open interview in September, where you could schedule a self-initiated interview. It may be that many of those people took advantage of this.

Don't worry about it. I had my first interview with an 03 graduates who never replied any emails to me. So I txted him the thank you letter... You can try to txt him/her if he/she gives you a name card... But I won't take that as a deal breaker~~[/quote]

I wouldn't stress about it. I also wouldn't advise texting. One email is plenty. You don't want to be that guy that is desperate for a second date.

1. You need to check your status here - https://applicants.siss.duke.edu/ , not in app.applyyourself. You must have got an email regarding this, if not, there is a problem and you should call Duke immediately.

2. I can safely sy that no one from R2/R3 (whichever had its deadline on 5th Jan) has not been admitted yet. In fact, no one has even received an interview invitation. Duke's admission process in last few years as observed by me is a testimonial that they do not issue invites and decisions on rolling basis but on the fixed date.

3. If you can log in the link i gave above, and see the status as 'Application Received' or 'Application Complete', you have nothing to worry about. On the other hand, if you see 'Application Incomplete' you need to follow up and submit the required documents

For what it's worth, the admissions director has said at an information session that when they make a class, each cut is roughly 50%:
50% of applicants are interviewed
50% of interviewees are accepted
50% of accepted students enroll

As far as I know, adcom don't give feedback, but you may find it useful hiring a consultant? I know a very good one who did a useful ding analysis for me. Happy to recommend.
