There’s a lot more to an application than just WE, qualification, and score. The more you could showcase yourself as an impactful leader and distinguish yourself from the rest of the applicants, the better it would be for you.

The GMAT and work experience are only components of the application, albeit important ones; your overall profile including your achievements at work, career growth, leadership potential, as well as future goals have a major role to play in determining your chances, as well. Hey guys, I’ve been placed on the waitlist for Duke. As of today, I have 3.5 years of work experience in ad tech in Mumbai. I received a promotion to Senior Associate this year in January.
Now I’m looking for a new job with a better work profile, company profile or possibly a manager designation.
Do you think if I get the job such kind of new information would be beneficial for the AdComm?
Or is it recommended to stick with your old job while on the waitlist?

Improving your GRE score may be a better direction to invest your energies in.

I got an email from Fuqua about the next steps for waitlisted candidates. There is an upcoming information session too, for waitlisted candidates. As per the email, you will get the next update on R2 decision date. Interestingly, 25% of the Fuqua first-year class is admitted from the waitlist. Is this typical for other schools?

Depends on demographics and the pool of the R2 candidates. You are on waitlist for multiple reasons- one of those reasons is potentially seeing whether the pool of applicants in R2 is better suited to increase their class profile appeal. Other reasons exist too but, I would still keep reaching out to students and ensuring to have them advocate for me for active engagement with the community
