I had my ISB interview on 9th Jan and there were 3 interviewers and 1 admission committee member present on the call. The interview started a bit late and lasted about 40-45 minutes in total. My interview was mostly centered around my work experience - what, why, how, and everything in between! So make sure you are thorough with your CV and job profile. There were other basic questions like: 1. Introduction 2. Why MBA? 3. What will you do if not selected? 4. One question about activities that I had mentioned in the application 5. Questions for the panelist It was an interactive session with few jokes in between, and was an exciting interview altogether, so fingers crossed :) I had used Preppie's ISB mock interview to prepare the standard questions. Preppie was really proactive in their approach and the interviewer gave me helpful feedback. The team was also answering the questions that came to my mind one or two days after the mock interview so all-in-all it was a good experience with them!

I had my Interview with 3 alumni. Not aware of their area of expertise. They did not introduce themselves neither did they ask me to introduce myself, no "tell me about yourself/ walk me through your resume" type question. The panelists were amicable and stated that it will not be a stress interview. 1. Lots n lots of questions around my extracurriculars/hobbies. Lots of cross questioning around it. 2. Questions around teamwork, conflict. These were behavioral questions. 3. Short term and long term goal. and why those goals? 4. Why ISB 5. Again a question around my hobby 6. Any questions for the interview panel ? The interview was conversational. (I cannot stress enough on how conversational it was). They were listening carefully and all the follow up questions were based on my previous answers. Tip : Be cautious of words used. Next question could be around it. Before the interview, I took Preppie's interview training package. They are a wonderful team of ISB alum. The detailed feedback provided by them was of great help.

There were 3 panelists, all alumni from 2015 and 2018 cohorts. We started 15 minutes late. All of them were very friendly and the interview was done in 30-35 minutes. 1. Tell us what you've been working on in the past few years 2. Follow up questions about work experience - what are your responsibilities? How many people are there in your team? What does a typical workday look like? 3. Tell us about a time you failed at work. What's the hardest part of the job? 4. Why ISB, why MBA now? Why do you want to switch? (my goals included switching from IT change management to marketing) 5. Have you done any activities to upskill yourself to make the switch? 6. What drew you to marketing? 7. Tell us about one brand's marketing campaign which you absolutely hated and one which you loved. 8. Questions about background, hobbies 9. Why did you choose to do engineering when you were clearly good at writing even in school? 10. Why do you like writing and performing poetry? Who influenced you to start writing? 11. Any questions for us? Overall, the panelists were chill and very responsive. I still felt like I could have explained my work experience a little better. Make sure you're thorough with your essays and be prepared for cross questioning about work experience. I took Preppie's mock interview which was incredibly helpful. Received very specific feedback.

There were three alumni in the panel and one person from the ad com who shadowed the conversation. The panel members set the tone of the interview upfront and introduced themselves. They were very friendly and the 40 minute interview was very conversational. Two of them were from a consulting background and another from a marketing background. After I introduced myself, I was given couple of situational questions which were followed by an overview of my work experience. Then we moved to questions on why I want to do an MBA and why ISB. I was asked to explain my approach to developing a strategy, had a few followup questions based on my answer.

Had an interview with Panel 2, 9th Jan 2022, 10:00 AM The panel members were from Co'2010 and Co'2012. The interview started 10 mins late.... At the start, the panel introduced themselves and told me that they had gone through my application and were satisfied with the academics, so the interview would look to dive deeper into the work experiences. 1. Explain leadership opportunities at work. 2. Have you had some leadership opportunities outside of work? (Explained about a experience and sneaked in my hobbies) 3. Have you faced conflict in any of your experiences? 4. Conflict at the workplace? 5. How would you drive consensus when say 30% are disagreeing? I told something like, we should understand their perspectives and try to negotiate and come to a middle ground. 6. What to do if still there are disagreements and some people are still holding out ? 7. (I had mentioned about working with stakeholders across multiple countries, in my essay) How was the interaction? What kind of tasks were being done across the countries I mentioned ? 8. Any questions for the interview panel ? One of the panelists shared a candid experience from his campus life The interview was very conversational in nature. Just like in a normal conversation, occasionally they asked follow-up questions on certain aspects, can't recollect all those. I was not asked the conventional questions such as Why MBA? Why ISB? How will you contribute to the class? etc. The interview got over in 25 mins.... I might have had a shorter interview than others.... Don't know if I should worry about the same....

The interview started about 10 minutes late but focused on the below questions - 1) What has your 4 years of work experience been like? 2) Specific challenges you faced at work 3) Hobbies 4) I mentioned CSR so - what have I done and contributions. 5) Long term and short term goals 6) Do you read any business books? 7) Any questions for us. It was a panel of 2 including one from 2008 batch and another from 2014 batch. It was well rounded around work experience and everything you basically mention in the interview.

So I was having Covid like symptoms immense fever and body ache before the D day, I woke up feeling slight pain and feverish, joined the meeting and adcom were supportive and asked if I wanted to reschedule but I went ahead. Questions were along the following lines 1) Tell me about yourself, 2) Why MBA and ISB 3) Why marketing, when did you decide ( I mentioned this as my short term goal ) slight grilling was done. 4) What i was doing to pursue this goal 5) Conflict at work you faced 6) Leadership initiative and learnings 7) Deep diving into my work experience, projects and achievements, mild grilling on that. Basically it was very professional and light hearted but they cross questioned throughly on most things, in retrospect I think i could have answered better on a plenty of questions. My advice is know your applications and goals two layers deep, have a very sound line of reasoning and stay calm! :)

Interview Panel comprised of 3 Alums and 1 Adcom member (who was on mute with video off) The interviewers made me feel comfortable at the beginning itself by saying it won't be a stress interview or a deep dive into my achievements etc. They just wanted to know more about me as a person. Some questions that I remember: 1) Where all I have travelled and which place I liked the most (Mentioned in the application about Travelling) 2) Why consulting post ISB and how would you work towards getting into one while at ISB? 3) If not consulting, what is plan B? How will you work towards it? 4) Most challenging situation at workplace and how did you overcome/navigate through it? 5) Challenges pertaining to consulting field 6) Having core engg background, what made you inclined towards consulting post undergrad? Any experiences related to that 7)How will you add value to the cohort? 8) What all are you planning to pursue at ISB apart from core acads? 9) Any questions? Overall it was a nice discussion which went for around 45 mins.No grilling as such. I worked with the S4GMAT team throughout the process, both application and mock interviews. It was super helpful and the honest feedbacks after mock interviews really helped.I worked with Manan for the mocks and his insights/advice really helped to structure the answers, I highly recommend S4GMAT to the aspirants looking for one stop solution for all the problems across different phases of the ISB journey.

Decided the give back to this community via which I have learnt a lot! SO here goes my experience. I had my Interview today with 2 alumni and one person from ISB who was just a spectator. The interview started with both the alums introducing themselves. After that I introduced myself. They asked me about my goals. Cross questioned on my response. Gave me one hypothetical situation and asked me how I would react. They asked about an Experience where I would feel that an MBA would be required to change the outcome. Questions on hobbies, quite in depth about details on the same. Questions about what my mangers and peers would think about me if asked. Example of displaying teamwork. Example of a role that I would like to be part of post ISB and in depth cross questioning. Example of a tough situation I was part of in personal and professional life. what was my opinion of the same and How did I react. What difference perspective I would bring to ISB I then asked them some of my doubts which they answered really well. Overall, both the alums were very polite and showed genuine interest in each of my answers. At the same time. they gave absolutely nothing away in terms whether they liked my answers or not. One can always do better after the event, but let's see. Fingers crossed ! The interview lasted a total of 40-45 minutes. Advice: Be very thorough with your application.

Interview with two alumni and one silent observer (45 min) Major discussion areas were: 1. My leadership style and personality traits 2. Multiple questions on sustainability and ESG (had mentioned my interest in essays) 3. Digitalization in energy and chemicals industries (my sector) 4. Digging deeper into the nature and impact of my previous role 5. How my design background could help in consulting/strategy roles 6. Why MBA? 7. Why ISB? 8. Extra-curriculars A couple of days before my interview, I practiced a mock with two ISB alumni via Preppie. Their mock interview was very rigorous and helped me warm up for D-day.

"I had my interview with two alumni and 1 shadow member from Ad-com. The interview was a friendly one but at the beginning, they went straight in and asked me about my startup venture. Why did I leave my job? They were trying to dig deep and ensure I know my venture thoroughly. They had several scenario-based questions as well, such as what would you do in case this were to happen or things didn't go your way. My questions were maybe more on the personal side, digging deep into my personality and understanding how I see things. They asked me other several questions such as: 1) How do I plan on handling my venture alongside an MBA? 2) Why ISB and no generic answer, what specific steps you'd take in ISB to reach your goals? 3) Two stark differences between the startup world and corporate world? 4) What are your weaknesses? These are some questions I remember. Rest revolved around my work, my learnings and my experience. Basically, everything revolved around what I had mentioned in my essays and resume. Nothing other than that. The interview went on for 35 mins. Overall it didn't feel like an interview, it was more like a conversation and they were genuinely interested in getting to know more about me and there were laughs and straight-up advice in between. I used Preppie's interview training package, they were good and definitely helped me gain clarity with my answers before the interview.

I had panel 2, with two alumni and 1 member from Ad-com. Pretty standard I guess. The interview was extremely friendly and they were intent on listening to my ideas and motivations. I didn't feel they were trying to corner me or test me. They were just interested in understanding my motivation for taking different decisions. So when you prepare, make sure you can backup your career decisions with good reasoning. My questions were more on the personal side, digging deep into my personality. I suppose being someone with a lesser work ex, they didn't have much to ask from work area. The questions were as follows : 1) What are your long term goals and how do you see your MBA experience helping you in that? 2) Why ISB? Only these were the general questions. Rest revolved around my work, my responsibility, my learnings and my experience. Also had a bunch of personality questions - I love philosophy so they revolved around that. The question was - "So what do you think life is about?" The entire interview lasted for about 45 mins. One very different question I had, which I am sure not many people were asked was - Tell us about your family? I was a little stumped and even excited at this question. Overall, I don't know what will happen but I really had a lot of fun just interacting with alumni and could see myself totally fit in the culture of the school. The entire experience helped me appreciate and understand the school so much better. To those preparing, the interview is not meant to put you under stress but a chance to share your story, which is a very valuable chance indeed. All the best!

I had my interview at 1400 hours and it started sharp on time. The panel included a couple of alumni. One was a very senior guy who graduated back in 2004 and the other one graduated in 2017. Both of them were well versed and had read my application and the essays thoroughly. They made me comfortable and did not put me under any stress whatsoever during the entire 40 min interview. The questions centralized on: 1. Why ISB || Why ISB over IIMs || Why ISB over foreign universities 2. About the ultimate long term goal 3. Struggles, learnings from the events organized in college 4. Deep diving on my work-life 5. Ethical and Moral questions by giving out a hypothetical situation 6. Whether I had decided on any clubs and chapters at the school 7. Ended with an opportunity to ask anything to the panel. In nutshell, know about everything you have mentioned in your application. They counter-question on things you mention and with their experience, they know who's faking it in seconds. The interview was not a monologue and was instead an open friendly conversation. There is no need to stress because they are looking for reasons to select you and not to reject you. I took 3 mocks through Preppie and would 10/10 recommend it to anyone. They have a wide range of experienced and fresh ISB alumni. The preparation kit and the feedback after the mocks are remarkable. The panel provides extensive and brutal honest feedbacks to eventually extract the best out of one. The first interview went terribly and was probably the reason why I got admitted eventually. The team makes sure to boost up the preparations in the background and also pairs you up with people from different industries and age groups to make sure you are exposed to multiple challenges before giving out your best in the actual interview. I am extremely satisfied with their services and is probably the most economical resource out there. Would totally recommend to get in touch with their team.

The interview panel consisted of two alums. They were very friendly and listened to the answers patiently Duration- 45 Mins Questions 1. Brief introduction 2. Explain parliamentary debate as that was a part of my achievements 3. Deep dive into an internship I had done with ORF and Facebook 4. Deep dive in my current role and my contribution to the team 5. Why MBA, Why ISB and what I add to the cohort 6. Was asked the goal question in the form of where are you headed in life. Then the follow-up question was Immediately after ISB what will be your goal and how confident are you in achieving the same. 7. Two values I live by 8. Behavioral question on handling a conflict in a team 9. Was asked to perform a minute of stand-up and some slam poetry as I had mentioned them in my hobbies. - Be careful while listing hobbies 10. Was asked about specific clubs I'm looking to join at ISB I had used Expert's Global for the app and interview prep. Would recommend them to anyone looking for end to end consultant. Also took Preppie's Pro package for a 2 hr exhaustive session. The alum from Preppie was well prepared with questions and tried to exhaust all possible scenarios I could encounter during my interview. Will fully recommend preppie for anyone looking for quick and thorough interview guidance.

Questions revolved around why mba, why ISB, why my short term and long term goal, what I would contribute to ISB, got a few scenarios and was asked how I would work on improving them, conflicts I had while organizing an event. Overall It lasted for around 35 mins, Used preppie for mock interview prep and they were very helpful

Duration 45 mins. 2 Alums and 1 Adcom The interview started as scheduled and I was asked to introduce myself. Questions - 1- The interviewers dug into my current work experience. As I work in a cosmetics startup they went deep into my KPI's, knowledge of the industry, and also knowledge of the pricing and procuring. 2- I was asked about my future goals, which I had mentioned in the application (Automotive). I was asked to talk about that and give an example of how I can add value to it. 3- I was asked to provide a case on what I would change about a specific company wrt their marketing and strategy. A few follow-up questions thereafter. 4- Further, I was asked about my plan B at ISB. 5- Then I was asked about my leadership style. Previous examples of where I showcased this quality while leading a team. 6- Then we spoke a little bit about hobbies and which ones I would like to pursue at ISB. 7- I was asked if I have any questions for the panel. Overall, it wasn't a very easy interview, but the tone was conversational and very professional. I chose @Preppie for my Interview prep and chose @Strategy4Gmat for my application! I highly recommend both and thank them for their help in the process. Please feel free to reach out to me in case more information is needed Good luck :)

Had my interview on the 14th of November at 10:00 AM. My profile - Chemical Engineer, BITS Pilani. 4 years in Supply Chain, Product Development and Consulting. 700 GMAT. Post MBA goal - Work in D2C space. The interview started 10 mins late. The interview panel consisted of one alumni from Co'15 and another alumni from Co'06. One member from the adcom was present but with video off and mic muted throughout. The panel introduced themselves and right away asked "In few words, Sell yourself, Why you should be a part of ISB". (I was expecting more of a "Tell me about yourself"). I answered the question with my intro and combined it with my strengths and how I would contribute". The senior alumn cruxed out the phrase "You like getting your hands dirty" Then few questions around my essay and How I managed to deliver and implement strategies During Covid and Amphan (I work in an E-commerce firm and was deployed to control the Aftermath of Amphan in Kolkata). I answered it in a "CAR" format and circled back to the phrase "I don't mind getting my hands dirty". Next question was "Why don't you directly get a job in D2C space since most of the learning is experiential". This was essentially a "Why MBA, Why ISB" question. Answered on the lines of Network, Knowledge and Credibility. Essentially told them I need to build a wholistic profile and build on business fundamentals in areas I don't have past experience. Lastly they were curious to know How did a Chemical Engineer ended up in Supply Chain after making a switch from Consulting and Product Development. I connected the dots and told them that I ended up in Supply Chain to work on the implementation aspect of things and not limit myself with just advisory. "I like getting my hands dirty" :p They asked If I had questions for them, I told them that there's more to my profile and How I recently featured in a music video. They were curious and then there was a 5 minute conversation around it. Finally I asked them about SIG's and other interest groups in ISB. Overall It was a nice experience, although I had so much more to talk about. A big shoutout to Preppie. Both Nishchay and Tadasmi sir not only structured my Applications but also helped me in maintaining the right positive attitude. And their mocks are always a must have before the real thing. Good Luck guys!!
