-The alum just wanted to know more about me as a System Engineer, and hence these specific questions were asked:
*Tell me a bit about yourself (intro)
*Can you tell me more about the System Engineering work in your company? (generic qs: what do you do at work?/describe your role)
*How was it like to transition from an R&D to a System Engineering background?
*How many System Engineers do you have in your team and how do you interact with them?(I spoke a bit about that)
*Can you tell me more about what your goals are post SDM? (if its written in your essay, be very clear about what you write else you will get a lot of questions!)
*What is one challenge you face at your current workplace?

My interviewers were 2 ISB alumni. The interview was very conversational.
Some things that were discussed during the interview -
- A brief of my background in engineering and experience in the development sector.
- Explanation for gaps in my work experience.
- Explanation for why I have worked part-time.
- Motivations that drive me at work.
- Who/what influences me.
- Question about leadership skills from one of my essays.
I asked them a couple of questions after about time folks get to dedicate to pet projects/clubs.
The entire conversation lasted about 40 minutes.
Hope this helps.

3 Alums (Male) and one professor with video off
- Started with my introduction
- Challenging project I've worked on and why was it challenging. How did I work around it
- One work situation where I showed leadership
- My goals post MBA and why I can't achieve the same by staying in Investment Banking
- Asked me about what I want to gain from ISB specifically
- Talked about one of my extra curricular social work experience
- Asked me more about my short term goals
- Then moved to any questions I have for them
The interview lasted about 30-35mins. Wasn't stressful at all. Very conversational.
I had taken help from Strategy4GMAT for mocks. And I think that really amped up my preparation. Taking those mocks before the actual interview really helped me prepare well for any odd ball questions that might come my way. Strongly recommend it.

I got an interview invite on 5th March. Since all the slots were filled, I had to give the pre-recorded interview.
Please be prepared for it. You have to finish the pre-recorded interview within 48 hours of getting the email.
Please practice as much as you can on KIRA practice questions or record yourself through your camera app on your laptop. I personally found that seeing your own video instead of another person listening to you is distracting and sometimes you can wander off. So practice a lot.
The actual questions were pretty standard stuff like any other in-person interview.
Format - There are 5 questions - Each has 45 seconds to prepare and 3 minutes to answer
1st question is fixed - Diversity experience
2nd question is fixed - Why MBA? Why HaaS?
5th question is fixed -Anything else you would like to tell us?
3 and 4th questions are standard behavioral questions around teamwork, humility, leading a difficult team, risk taken, helping bring up the morale.
In my case, i was little thrown off by the 3rd question which asked me to provide an example of where I convinced my colleagues to do something which was not in their job description and how did I go about it.
The 4th question was standard tell me a time when you took a great risk in your professional life.

First Question: Why Haas/MBA?
Second Question: Example of diversity and inclusion
Third Question: Example of a situation of humility that touched you
Fourth Question: Example of situation with people who had strong opinions
Fifth Question: Anything more you would like to share
Hope this helps!

I found this forum to be incredibly helpful for my interview so wanted to share my experience! It was my first interview with a member of AdCom, others have been with students so it was a bit of a different vibe. Overall I thought it went smoothly and my interviewer was incredibly nice.
Questions:
1. Tell me about your background and why do you want to get an MBA?
2. What are some companies you want to work for after your MBA?
3. What are some steps you'll take to ensure you get an internship?
4. How are you preparing for the rigorous academic environment?
5. Any clubs or courses you'd like to join?
6. Anything you want me to take back to the AdCom?
Highly recommend and make sure you are prepared and do your research!

I interviewed with an alum of the Evening MBA program and for the most part it was really conversational and friendly.
Questions I was asked:
1) Tell me about yourself, your background and why you want to pursue an MBA now.
2) With those goals in mind, why do you think Georgetown would be the right fit? What other programs are you looking at?
3) Tell me about a time in your work experience when you made a decision and what feedback you received as well as the effect of the decision? How did you handle it?
Questions I asked my interviewer:
1) What are the diversity and equity efforts like at McDonough? As a woman in business how has her experiences been affected by her gender?
2) How open and accepting is the McDonough administration at taking student feedback and incorporating it into activities and the curriculum?
3) What were her favorite classes and activities at McDonough?

I interviewed with Belinda Marklew who was an external coach hired by Warwick. The interview was extremely relaxed and you could see how every answer led to a follow up question which helped keep the conversation natural.
She started off by explaining the flow of my interview which would be work experience, future plans, and any questions I may have.
Questions and follow ups that were asked of me were:
1) Talk about your career history so far and what prompted you to make every major career decision and an achievement you are proud of basis each decision.
Follow up: I had some international work experience so she asked me some follow up questions on how it was working with people of different nationalities and how I adapted to it.
2) How many people report to me? What would my managers or my team say about me as a manager?
Follow up: I had recently increased my team so there were a lot of questions about how I did that and what steps went into tackling that as a problem and coming to a decision.
3) What is the structure of my current organization like and where do I fit in within that?
4) How does an MBA fit into my overall career plans?
Follow up: I had an entrepreneurship vision as part of long-term goal and her exact question was "paint me a picture of what that would look like."
5) Where am I currently in the application process and what other schools have I applied to?
Follow up: I told her I had also applied to Rotman and we spoke in detail about why I had picked these two schools and why I would prefer one to the other.
6) If I were given a scholarship, what would I give back to Warwick?
7) Any questions I had for the admissions committee.
Follow up: I had a few questions that she said she did not have an answer to since she said she didn't work for the university itself, but someone from the admissions team got back to me today with answers to the remaining questions.
Overall the interview was extremely conversational and the interviewer really helped me relax as it went along. She waited patiently for me to finish my answers (and I talk a lot!) before she asked follow up questions.

My interview was on 26th Feb with Tiffany Jackson. She is an AdCom member.
It started off by she introducing herself briefly and then informing that it will be a blind interview. The interview was overall very conversational and ended in 20 mins. She kept 10 minutes for my questions.
The questions I was asked were :
1. What is your typical work week like.
2. Immediate plans post MBA
3. Plan B
4. Why Tepper
5. TMAT when you made an effort to increase diversity in your workplace.
6. TMAT when you did not have enough information to make a decision.
7. TMAT when you had to compromise on a project.
8. TMAT when you mentored someone.
Then she asked if I have any questions. I asked her a few questions and we were done.

Here’s my TBD experience:
1. My slot was the first slot of the day, i.e. 8 am ET. The Zoom call opened 10 mins before the scheduled time with two 2nd year students and whoever else had joined by then. The 2nd years just announced that they were the moderators and went on mute. The participants did basic introductions and waited for other participants to join in. Luckily, everyone made it on time.
2. At 8 am ET, the 2nd years unmuted and introduced themselves. They asked everyone to state their name, company they work for, and the intended major at Wharton. I had no idea this was asked. Luckily, I knew what I wanted to say since they asked me to start. Phew. They then give out the rules and read the prompt. In the rules they emphasize that we as a group have to keep our own time and ensure we keep 5 mins for the presentation/summary towards the end. They will only notify us when we have 10 mins and 5 mins remaining by holding a paper on the screen. They asked if anyone has any questions before they start the timer.
3. Once the timer is started, it was up to the group to do everything.
4. Once the TBD ended, the main room was open for everyone. They announced how they’d interview everyone - how we would be split between the 2nd Year (each would interview 3) and the order in which we would be interviewed. The order was randomly assigned from what I believe. If you’re the first one (in either of the two buckets), you won’t get any breather time in between. Before they start they announce the rules. Here they say that it’s a blind interview so please feel free to go into as many details as we want since they don’t know about our backgrounds.
5. Once we go into the breakout room, the 2nd year sets a times on his/her end and asks only 1 combined question: “Why MBA? and Why Wharton?” If you have time left over, he/she will ask you to ask him/her any questions. Once the times is up, you are released in the main room.
6. It’s then up to the participants to either stick in the main room for the rest of the time to chat with whoever is there, or leave.
That’s pretty much it. Let me know if you have any specific question. Happy to answer them! Hope this helps!

I had my interview with Ms. Kristin Branch, Director - The A.C. Nielsen Center for Marketing Analytics & Insights since that is the specialization that I opted for in my application. 3. Tell me about your leadership style and some examples to describe the same.
4. Tell me about a situation where there was a conflict between you and your supervisor, and how did you resolve the same.
4. Tell me about 2-3 recent marketing campaigns that you know of.
5. Tell me about the parameters that you have kept in mind while selecting the prospective business schools, and which other schools have you applied to.
6. Tell me 5 words that your co-workers would use to describe you.

Firstly, thank you to everyone who posted their debriefs. It was really helpful in my prep. My interview was with a 2nd year student. Went on for 35 mins. It was totally conversational rather than just Q&A, hence felt very relaxed even though I was nervous for the 1st couple mins.
25mins:
1. Tell me about yourself
2. Why MBA, why now and what are your career goals
3. Why Georgetown
4. Tell me about a time when you took initiative at work
5. What is your proudest achievement at work
6. Tell me about a time when you had disagreement with your manager & how did you resolve it
7. Which clubs will you be a part of at Georgetown
8. Follow up questions on my hobby which I had mentioned in 1st question
9. One thing that you took for granted in the pre covid era
10mins:
My questions to interviewer
1. What was the highlight of your MBA program since you experienced the program in person as well as virtually
2. How helpful was Georgetown in your career transition from army to investment banking
3. How strong is the alumni network of Georgetown (especially for international students)
Best of luck to all for their decisions!

Interviewers - 3 alums; Product managers at tech companies
1. tell me about yourself - gave a brief intro of myself focusing on my roles and responsibilities in current role
2. what aspect of your job do you like the best and why - spoke about making pitch books
3. what has been a professional accomplishment/ sometime when you took initiative with cross questioning on this - had helped team build credentials in a space so spoke about that
4. what is your goal - wanted to transition from my advisory to internal corporate strategy role
5. why do you want to do it - mentioned I have currently been evaluating businesses but have been doing it from an outside-in perspective, want to get more involved in the intricacies of business, understand the on-ground challenges
6. given that you get to work on diverse projects, wouldn't an internal role limit your exposure or be less exciting - spoke about how I already have four years of experience, would now like to build expertise in a sub-segment within consumer tech because these knowledge and skill sets are extremely valuable and can be monetised later
7. what would I choose between a PM role at Swiggy and a Gen-mgt role at Unilever - said would rather prefer a growth strategy role at Swiggy
8. why do I need an MBA - knowledge base + strategic/thinking skills development through the course and peer group diversity; network
9. why not just do some course online and infact invest time in building that consumer tech expertise - said mba gives that classroom experience, can learn from people who already come from engineering/tech backgrounds
10. Career plan b and plan c
11. describe a time when you failed - spoke about a situation when I took more responsibility than I could handle and my learnings from it
12. any questions for us - asked them for some advice that they would give to a young professional like me
Overall the interview was good and conversational. Didn't find it to be stressful.
For my preparation I took two mocks from Preppie where I got some very valuable feedback on my profile and answers which significantly helped me in handling the cross questioning in the interview.

Interviewed on: Feb 21 2021 Final Decision: Interviewed
"Mode: Zoom
Scheduled Time: 10 AM
Start Time: 10:04 AM
End Time: 10:40 AM
Panel - 01 Male and 01 Female Alums (Co 2003 and Co 2018), another person who was on mute with video off throughout.
The Alums were very cordial and introduced themselves at the commencement of the interview.
Q: Tell me about yourself.
Q: Why do you want to do MBA?
Q: Are you sure this is the right school for you.
Q: How have you ascertained that doing MBA from ISB is the right path for you?
Q: Are you leaving your present job as a matter of normal process or are you quitting for a specific purpose?
Q: Have you ever been in a situation when you did not have anyone under you and you wanted to lead a team?
Q: Tell me about the time you felt that your Boss was wrong?
Q: What do you plan to do immediately after ISB?
Q: Any questions for us?
The interview was not stressful, but they really wanted to know if I was going to fit into the School's scheme of things and that I had really thought through my decision to join the school. I felt this was probably due to my age and WE. But otherwise it was quiet conversational.
I did not use any professional help for the interview. The questions posed in this forum were very helpful.
Also, I spoke to a few candidates who are from the same industry and have similar WE. This really helped me to gather those extra questions in advance. Really grateful to all of them, especially one current ISB student.

The interview was like a standard job interview:
1. Tell me about yourself
2. Why MBA, why WHU?
3. Strengths/Weaknesses
4. Tell me about a time...
5. Questions about your family and whether they are accompanying you (I think this is more to see if you have thought through actually moving to Germany and what it means for your family).
General advice:
1. Be confident but not arrogant
2. Make sure your technicals are sorted out before the interview. Make sure the internet is strong, and no one will be walking in the room to disturb you.
3. Be authentic and honest, they will pick up if you are trying to lie. The interview questions are simple but they are very experienced and can easily spot the deceivers.
4. I wore a suit coat and no tie, I guess any smart business attire will do.
5. Know your CV, in case they ask you anything from it.
6. Know why you want to move to Germany, you must be able to show them you have considered all the factors (if you are planning to work in Germany you will need to learn German)
7. Lastly, prepare in front of a mirror or a camera, you dont want to be umming and aahing, it will show you didnt prep properly. You must talk like you know without sounding practised.
