The vibe was pleasant and relaxed.
He started with the interview asking me where am I interviewing from.
We chit-chat a little bit and he started asking about my short term and long goal, also what am I currently working on and what was my professional career look like.
Then Why marshall and how do you plan to contribute.
At the end, ended with a couple questions about the program.

This was the "conversation" Marshall implemented this year.
Standard questions:
-Walk me through your resume
-What led you to your short term goals
-Why MBA
-Why Marshall
-What's something not on your resume that you want to share? Passion? Hobbies?
Brief 20 minute conversation, leaves you time to ask them questions.

interviewed with brigitte engel, administrative director. she was a no nonsense, don't bullshit type of person. deviated from your standard line of questions. most she focused her, and i put this nicely, "why an mba" and "tell me about your experiences that will be par with your peers."
felt tense, indicative of behavioral style questions to determine if you can "handle the pressure," which i fail to see the relevance in the EMBA program. i've dealt with immense amount of pressure, and this conversation could have gone smoother but it didn't.

Got the invite from Prof. Carl Voigt about 4 days in advance — super warm and relaxed setup over Zoom. He makes it feel like a chat, not an interview.
Questions asked:
1. Where are you joining from? (To set conversational tone)
2. Have you connected with IBEAR alumni/current students? (To get conversation flowing)
3. Tell me about your career so far.
4. Why MBA and why now?
5. Why IBEAR specifically?
6. What are your short- and long-term goals?
7. What exposure do you have to (goals related)?
8. Are you applying elsewhere?
9. What makes IBEAR stand out for you?
10. Family joining you during the program?
11. Have you been to the U.S. before?
12. Any questions for me?
Takeaway:
Conversation flowed easily — Prof. Voigt genuinely wants to know your story, realistic goals and fit with the cohort. Focus on why this program (industry trips + tight-knit class) and show clarity on post-MBA goals.

I had my interview earlier this week (3/4) with a first-year student. The interview was conversational and my interviewer was very nice and understanding of any nerves I had. Since I’m filling this out a few days after, I can’t quite remember what I was asked but I’d recommend you be prepared to address the following topics:
– Tell me about yourself / walk me through your resume.
– Why Marshall?
– Short / Long-term Goals?
– TMAT you faced a challenge.
– Leadership example.
– Questions for the interviewer.
Another thing worth noting, is that my interviewer mentioned this is the first year they’re having students conduct interviews.

Met in-person. Arrived a few minutes early, greeted the staff sitting at the reception desk, and waited for my time. Interview started on time with a member of the Adcom. Questions included:
Tell me about yourself & your work history
Teamwork with a challenging teammate
Favorite project
Why Marshall
Goals
My questions. I kept my questions brief and somewhat standard, such as favorite thing about Marshall and what sets Marshall apart from other programs from his perspective.
Overall the tone was very positive and I left with more details about the program than I had from the site or other events.

My interviewer was Benjamin Greenfeld. I joined the meeting five minutes prior to start time and saw him waiting for me already. I nearly had a heart attack! So, I apologized for keeping him waiting and he reminded me that I wasn't late (and that instead, he was early). Haha!
- We spent the opening five minutes talking about casual stuff and life in general
- Walk me through your resume starting from post graduation
- Why MBA? Why Marshall?
- What your short and long term goals?
- If the economic conditions change, what are your alternative short and long term goals?
- Do you have geographic preferences for where you would like to work post MBA?
- Do you have any specific employers in mind?
- How will you contribute to Marshall?
- Based on experience, what are your top 3 traits in a leader?
- General questions
He appreciated my decision to schedule my interview early and added that I might likely receive an early decision as well (late November / early December).

I was invited for an interview after my application was reviewed and scheduled a Zoom call with an Adcom member.
I checked all the technical details on my end and was ready 10 minutes prior to the scheduled time. Unfortunately, the first 15 minutes were an absolute disaster. We encountered multiple technical difficulties; his voice wasn't coming through. He asked me to connect an external headphone, change my microphone, and even switch laptops. When none of those solutions worked, he realized the issue was likely on his end and used his mobile phone to connect to the meeting. This whole process took nearly 15 minutes of our scheduled time, causing me a lot of agitation and losing my composure, which affected the interview.
Despite the shaky start, I tried my best and responded to several standard questions:
1. Tell me about yourself
2. What is your current job title? Talk about your most significant professional achievement.
3. What according to you are three defining characteristics of a leader?
4. Talk about a time when you had to solve a team conflict.
5. What are your short-term and long-term goals?
6. Which companies are you considering working for after your MBA?
7. What is it about LA that excites you?
8. Why MBA and why Marshall?
He then extended the meeting beyond the scheduled time to answer some questions I had.
In summary, I genuinely believe I would have performed better without the technical issues. I would have much rather preferred the Adcom member to conduct some basic checks on his end before this high-stakes interview.

Mine went really quick and more like a chitchat with adcom. Please note that It is a blind interview, which means the interviewer will have no information about you prior the interview.
Here are the questions that I got
1. Your introduction
2. Why MBA?
3. Why Marshall?
4. Strengths and weaknesses
5. Story about accomplishment
6. Question to ask back the interviewer
They took around 3-4 weeks to return the result.
Hope it helps, Good luck with your interview

The interviewer was Kim Grace. The interview was very conversational. Here are the questions
- tell me about yourself
- why IBEAR
- leadership style
- short term and long term goal
- some questions about my projects from the resume

I appeared for the interview yesterday. Here are the questions:
- What kind of a leader are you?
- Tell me about yourself?
- What other colleges have you applied for and why USC specifically?
- What electives would you choose and why?
- What's your long and short term goal?
It was a more of a discussion than an interview. Make yourself comfortable and you'll sail through. Stay honest!
Good Luck!

My interview lasted for 20 minutes.
I was interviewed by a member of the admissions committee. The tone was friendly and the entire interview was conversational.
All questions on expected lines.
It started with an introduction and basic follow-up questions. Then Why MBA, Why Marshall, career goals, followed by some behavioural questions.
I would recommend preparing for these and understanding your story well. You will not have the option to share all the examples you prepare, which might have been needed for some interviews that last from 45 minutes to 1 hour, so choose your favorite stories that highlight your personality and achievements well.
Needn't worry about any curveballs, just relax, be structured in your responses and speak from the heart.

Had my interview on 13 March with Mr. Nirav Mehta, Senior Associate Director MBA Admissions.
Very conversational, he put me at ease right away.
Started off with him asking me to introduce myself starting with education and moving on to my current job.
Post that he asked me what I think my biggest work achievement is and to talk about it.
Based on our conversation, he asked about the 3 qualities a good leader has as per me.
Then we moved on to the goals that I have - both ST and LT
This led to him then asking me about the need for an MBA and why I would like to pursue it at Marshall.
He kept some time at the end for questions and answered all 3 questions I had patiently.
At the end, he told me that the next steps - he would have a meeting with the committee next week and would be reaching out soon with their decisions!
Overall a comfortable but short interview. 30-35 minutes in total.
