Met in-person. Arrived a few minutes early, greeted the staff sitting at the reception desk, and waited for my time. Interview started on time with a member of the Adcom. Questions included: Tell me about yourself & your work history Teamwork with a challenging teammate Favorite project Why Marshall Goals My questions. I kept my questions brief and somewhat standard, such as favorite thing about Marshall and what sets Marshall apart from other programs from his perspective. Overall the tone was very positive and I left with more details about the program than I had from the site or other events.

My interviewer was Benjamin Greenfeld. I joined the meeting five minutes prior to start time and saw him waiting for me already. I nearly had a heart attack! So, I apologized for keeping him waiting and he reminded me that I wasn't late (and that instead, he was early). Haha! - We spent the opening five minutes talking about casual stuff and life in general - Walk me through your resume starting from post graduation - Why MBA? Why Marshall? - What your short and long term goals? - If the economic conditions change, what are your alternative short and long term goals? - Do you have geographic preferences for where you would like to work post MBA? - Do you have any specific employers in mind? - How will you contribute to Marshall? - Based on experience, what are your top 3 traits in a leader? - General questions He appreciated my decision to schedule my interview early and added that I might likely receive an early decision as well (late November / early December).

I was invited for an interview after my application was reviewed and scheduled a Zoom call with an Adcom member. I checked all the technical details on my end and was ready 10 minutes prior to the scheduled time. Unfortunately, the first 15 minutes were an absolute disaster. We encountered multiple technical difficulties; his voice wasn't coming through. He asked me to connect an external headphone, change my microphone, and even switch laptops. When none of those solutions worked, he realized the issue was likely on his end and used his mobile phone to connect to the meeting. This whole process took nearly 15 minutes of our scheduled time, causing me a lot of agitation and losing my composure, which affected the interview. Despite the shaky start, I tried my best and responded to several standard questions: 1. Tell me about yourself 2. What is your current job title? Talk about your most significant professional achievement. 3. What according to you are three defining characteristics of a leader? 4. Talk about a time when you had to solve a team conflict. 5. What are your short-term and long-term goals? 6. Which companies are you considering working for after your MBA? 7. What is it about LA that excites you? 8. Why MBA and why Marshall? He then extended the meeting beyond the scheduled time to answer some questions I had. In summary, I genuinely believe I would have performed better without the technical issues. I would have much rather preferred the Adcom member to conduct some basic checks on his end before this high-stakes interview.

I appeared for the interview yesterday. Here are the questions: - What kind of a leader are you? - Tell me about yourself? - What other colleges have you applied for and why USC specifically? - What electives would you choose and why? - What's your long and short term goal? It was a more of a discussion than an interview. Make yourself comfortable and you'll sail through. Stay honest! Good Luck!

My interview lasted for 20 minutes. I was interviewed by a member of the admissions committee. The tone was friendly and the entire interview was conversational. All questions on expected lines. It started with an introduction and basic follow-up questions. Then Why MBA, Why Marshall, career goals, followed by some behavioural questions. I would recommend preparing for these and understanding your story well. You will not have the option to share all the examples you prepare, which might have been needed for some interviews that last from 45 minutes to 1 hour, so choose your favorite stories that highlight your personality and achievements well. Needn't worry about any curveballs, just relax, be structured in your responses and speak from the heart.

Had my interview on 13 March with Mr. Nirav Mehta, Senior Associate Director MBA Admissions. Very conversational, he put me at ease right away. Started off with him asking me to introduce myself starting with education and moving on to my current job. Post that he asked me what I think my biggest work achievement is and to talk about it. Based on our conversation, he asked about the 3 qualities a good leader has as per me. Then we moved on to the goals that I have - both ST and LT This led to him then asking me about the need for an MBA and why I would like to pursue it at Marshall. He kept some time at the end for questions and answered all 3 questions I had patiently. At the end, he told me that the next steps - he would have a meeting with the committee next week and would be reaching out soon with their decisions! Overall a comfortable but short interview. 30-35 minutes in total.

I was interviewed by Laura Hartman from the admissions team. She said that she just had my résumé with her band it was a blind interview. I was asked these questions: 1. Walk me through your résumé 2. What does Leadership mean to you 3. What do you like to do in your free time 4. Weakness 5. What type of leadership experience do you have? Are you currently leading a team. 6. Why USC 7. What brings out the best in you (something along these lines - now i think she was asking me about my strengths, so i guess i messed this up a little bit) 8. Questions that i had for her The questions were not asked in the same order as i have mentioned here. The interview lasted 30 minutes and was pretty smooth. Towards the end when she asked me for any questions i had for her and that was when it became very conversational. Overall, a good experience. Hoping for the best now.

I interviewed with a member of the admissions committee this week. I do not believe she had seen my application, only my resume. My interview lasted 30 minutes. It was not on Microsoft Teams (as noted in the interview invite) but on Zoom. Walk me through your resume. Do you oversee anyone at your current job? What leadership opportunities have you had? What do you attribute to the success of your career? Why do you want an MBA? What are your post mba goals? Why Marshall? What will you bring to Marshall? Have you talked to any students or alumni? What is one soft skill that you are working to improve on? What are your top three strengths? How would your friends describe you? Is there anything more I should know about you? Do you have any questions for me? What do you like most about your job? What could your boss/company improve on? One more question was how would your friends describe you. A tip I would give is to present your answer and then give background information or additional context. I tried explaining why I’m different from my friends and because of this they would describe me a certain way. The interviewer took this that I didn’t understand the question. This might have docked me points. Another issue I had was anticipating future questions. When they asked why USC Marshall I should have talked about more specifics like classes/clubs/ examples from students I talked to, how specifically USC can help me get from A to B. I expected them to ask what courses I’m interested in or if I had talked to any students. They didn’t and I didn’t get to “show off”
