Hi everyone, I just finished my interview today. It lasted around 20 minutes. I answered 4-5 questions
- why now,
- leadership style,
- how to approach a teamwork project if you are just team member,
- professional strength
within 10-12 minutes and had Q&A around 5-7 minutes. I'm not sure if I messed up with my interview or not :( because it's such a short time.

Just finished with my preliminary interview. It lasted for 14 mins exactly. Quite friendly and conversation-based.
The interviewer made it clear in the beginning that she will not be taking any questions in this round.
Questions in chronology:
1. 1 min elevator pitch
2. Why MBA? Why NUS? Why Singapore (All included in one question).
3. Preferred destinations for jobs.
4. Alternate destinations if you don't land a job in your preferred destination. Had some follow up discussions on China and Europe.
5. One current affair outside Asia (Made clear to not include Modi :)).
6. How would you prepare differently for the next interview if you make it to the next round?
I asked for some feedback in the end. She said she was alright with everything

I had my interview on Jan 30th with Mr. Paul from the adcom. The interview was friendly and conversational. The questions were similar to what everyone got asked - tell me about yourself, why mba, why ND etc Just be prepared for questions they might ask you on your story as well. They asked me what was it like working for a corporate and at a family business and I did prepare for that. Good luck guys.
Please go through the debrief section before your interview. The questions were just the same.
Regards,
HK

Interviewed by Deirdre Kane,Director of Admissions - UGA Terry college of Business this morning via Skype. The interview lasted for 35minutes including the time i spent asking questions. It was a a comprehensive interview. Ms. Kane had read my application and had a background on my work experience and academics. She started by explaining a little about the objective of the interview and the structure of it. She also explained that it would be a 30-35 minute interview. It was a combination of some direct questions and some open ended questions. Do understand, this is not a stress interview. The interviewee really just wants to understand you more in light of the information you have sent across in form of the application and essays. She began by asking me to throw some light on my professional accomplishments, why i took certain decisions and what i learn from them and a general graph of my career. She then went ahead and asked me some behavioral questions. Be ready to share instances that may have demonstrated your strengths and weaknesses, how did you deal with pressure / conflicting situations and what did you learn from them. At the end of the interview feel free to ask questions if you have any.
Stay calm and be yourself. The good news is it is an invite-only interview, which means the University does find you interesting. Keep that in mind and give it your best!!
All the best guys! :)

Hi!
Just had an interview with Deidre Kane, the admissions director of Terry. My interview experience was really different. She did not ask a single standard question. Nothing about the resume or my goals or why terry or even my strengths or weakness. The questions were really very different but it was a very good interview. She told me straightaway that she liked my resume and essays and she wanted to know me more. I was thrown off guard a bit when the first question she asked me was about my biggest failure. But I picked up the pace and we had a good 40 minutes conversation. She told me that I should be expecting an email by the second week of January. Hope it goes well! Long wait!
Good luck to all you guys too!

The interview is fairly straight forward with the standard set of questions.
I felt what they wanted to see most was whether your career goals are consistent with your experience and whether you really need an MBA to realize your goals.
It will be a 35-40 minutes interview. Make sure you have some questions to ask them and make sure they are not ones whose answers are readily available on their website.
Usually someone from the Ad-Com will conduct the interview. Make sure you know what Terry has to offer and also make sure you know what you want out of the school. If you research the program thoroughly then its only expected to develop a few queries in your mind. Put those queries across for clarification.
Some other questions were "What do you do for stress-relief?" "How do you handle difficult people?"
With all these and a little bit of luck , You can definitely pull this off!!
Good luck for now and always

1. Introduce yourself
2. Tel us 3 key learnings from your work experience.
3. Why MBA?
4. Why do you want to do MBA at this stage in your life/ career?
5. One reason that we should not select you?
6. What are your short- and long-term career goals? Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
7. Tell us about a challenging situation that you faced? How did you resolve it?
8. What are your greatest strengths? Give examples
9. What are your weaknesses? Give examples
10. What would you describe are your greatest achievement to date?
11. Interests and Hobbies – Be prepared!.. questions as basic as “Why do youdo poetry (or any other activity” may be asked.
12. What extra-curricular activities or Student Clubs at Babson you would like to be a part of?
13. Do you have any questions for us?
What I have noticed during the interview is that you will be asked about your strengths and weaknesses in different ways such as:
a. What do you bring to the class of 2013 and how would you contribute to make it a better place?
b. What are your strengths and weaknesses?
c. What qualities of you can make Babson a better place?
d. Have you faced any difficult situation in your profession and how did you overcome that?
e. Babson is known for entrepreneurship? What qualities you think can make you a better entrepreneur?
All the above questions were asked by the interviewer during my interview. I thought it was one of the most grilling interviews I have ever faced because the interviewer was testing me back and forth on my strengths and weaknesses. Even my ISB and Duke interviews were easier than this.

Had my Babson interview yesterday. I did it in person. The interviewer was 2nd year Full time MBA student. Overall, the interview experience was very warm and conversational. As many have said here before, the interviewer had list of questions and was writing down my answers.
Apart from questions mentioned by @dc515, I was asked "what do I expect from my team members during MBA studies"
Most of the schools ask "what will you bring to the MBA class" so in my opinion the question Babson interviewer asked was unique.
He also asked "what entrepreneurship means to me".

Interview is just a part of your application so I think it is important to get clarification on the missing components.
My interview went smooth and lasted for about 45minutes. It was conversational with mostly routine questions about goals, why babson etc.
However there were some specific to work experience and entrepreneurial attitude.

Here are some more questions in addition to the ones specified in other debriefs.
They also asked me about a time I took a risk. But here are additional ones:
What would you do outside the classroom if you came to Babson?
Tell me what you do outside the classroom now? Your hobbies and how they relate to what you do professionally...
My interview went strictly by that script (4 pages - 3 questions on each page with room to take notes underneath) and in some answers the interviewer said "Oh, I guess you answered this one, so let's move to the next one." The interview lasted 45 minutes counting the 2 questions I had in the end.

just had my interview with Babson a few days ago with a current student. very conversational. was able to get student's feedback about program throughout the interview as well. Overall one of the more comfortable interviews I've had. Lasted about an hour but we spent a lot of time talking about the program and her experience also. Apparently there is a script of Qs that they follow but the interviewer seemed every adamant about finishing within the one hour time slot and leaving room for Q&A. So my impression is to not spend too much time on any specific question.
Want to post some of the questions I was asked hoping it will help prospective applicants/interviewees as these forums were very valuable in preparing me for interview. Just passing it forward and hope others will do the same. Good luck everyone.
(NOT in any specific order)
- Why Babson
- Why MBA, Why Now
- Give Example of good/bad teamwork
- Short term goals, how does it transition to your LT goals
- Team work setting you like and hate the most
- What would you want to be remembered as
- What are you passionate about
- Any other things you do outside of class
- Tell me of a time you have taken a risk
- Tell me of a time that you have acted entrepreneurally
- If a team member was not contributing what would you do
- What would you say are your three strengths/three things you would like to improve
- Which other schools have you applied to
- Walk me through your resume.
- Babson is about teamwork, so please tell me about the best and worst team experiences you had.
- A time you worked in a team, what did you learn about yourself?
-Types of people who you can't get along with. (was surprised to be asked this question, not sure if I answered well)
As for the two questions that InvestingInMyself was referring to, I believe he just meant in addition to my preceding post.
Some tips that I can suggest based on my interview experience. Now that I am looking back as to where I could have probably improved.
1-As mentioned on my previous post, my interviewer seem very determined to finish within the one hour time slot (including Q&A). Time your responses to general questions such as tell me about yourself and run me through your resume so that you do not spend too much time looking like a script (like I probably did.) Since they are writing your response down, do not bombard them with too much as I doubt they can write down everything you say, only key points.
2-Don't talk too fast. I say this because a few times the interviewer will ask me a question and as I am prepared to answer, she is writing down my response from the previous question. I would usually wait for her to finish and then continue. This also gave me time to process the question and think of a more appropriate response. She also appreciated the consideration.
3- I would say the most important thing to keep in mind is to not look at it as an interview. It may sound like a typical response but I believe it is important to consider. The interviewer is another person who has gone through the same interview experience as you a year ago. Try to have him/her relate to you and your situation, let them speak for you when they write their responses to the admissions. I was fortunate enough to have lunch with a current student and he introduced me to an interviewer who also happened to be on lunch break. My takeaway from our conversation was "the interview is to get to know you better. To put a personality to the application. To see if you will fit into the class culture and most importantly, will your classmates want to hang out with you."
I hope this helps. Sorry if my response was a bit lengthy. Best of luck.

I'm Asian, female, 25, 3.5 WE with my undergrad concentration in accounting. I'd been an auditor at Big4 for 3 years. I got a CPA license and currently work for my family business.
As I believe it might be beneficial for others who will have interviews later, I'm going to share my interview experience here.
Had an interview on Feb 2 with the second-year student. I scheduled for a 10 am slot but my interviewer asked to postpone since he had another Babson event that time. So we had an interview at noon (which is midnight in my country). He was very friendly. The interview was very relaxed. But during the first question (walkthrough resume) I was nervous that I forgot to mention about my working experience at my own company. Then I realized that when I answered the ST,LT goal questions and told the interviewer about it.the interviewer said he got a list of questions that he needed to ask me. These are the questions I can remember.
1. Walkthrough resume
2. ST LT goal
3. Why MBA, Why now
4. WHy Babson and have you applied for other schools and where?
5. Tell me about your leadership and teamwork experiences
6. What kind of leader are you?
7. What three strengths you think you have the most?
8. Have you run into any opportunities that might come in your way? Please give some examples?
9. What are you passionate about?
10. Any questions you may want to ask?
That's about it, I guess. It was a thirty-minute interview. Before we ran to the last two questions, my interviewer said I could provide a very concise answer, spent only 1 min while others may spend 3-4 mins, and he appreciated that. (But later I wasn't sure if that was ok cuz I felt like i should have talked a bit more)
Hope this helps.

Hello
One of you asked me my interview experience, I think its better to post here as others also get to benefit from it.
My interview was in mid November, so I don't recall much. Here is what I recall:
It was a blind interview, meaning the interviewer had not read my essays and was a second year student.
1. It started with my introduction and why I made specific career choices. Specifically why I chose to pursue a particular degree during bachelors and why I chose my job.
2. An obvious next question was Why MBA, goals post MBA.
3. Why Babson, How will I contribute to Babson?
4. Briefly tell about work experience
5. What is my definition of Leadership.
6. What will I do if I don't get a job at the US post MBA?
7. Anything else I want to tell to Admissions committee which wasn't covered during the interview.
They have a large number of questions and they expect crisp answers as they need to finish off within some 40-45 mins.
All The very Best!!

The interview is pretty straight forward.
You can expect questions around these topics -
Why MBA?
Why Babson, why now?
Couple of questions around leadership and your role in teams?
Some behavioral questions around - strengths, weakness, description in 1 word, etc!
Hope this helps.

Interview was pretty straight forward. I got interviewed with a 2nd year student. Some of the questions that I remember:
a) Walk me through your Resume?
b) One of the projects where you failed?
d) What are the qualities of a leader?
e) What are the key learning from your professional experience?
f) Why MBA? Why Babson?
g) Clubs that you will enroll in Babson?
h) How do your peers describe you? Your Friends? Your Boss
i) What are your weaknesses?
j) How have you handled a situation of conflict between two team members in a team?

Hi All,
Just had my interview and it was a bit weird I must say. It went on for only 20 mins. Interviewer looked more nervous than me and never smiled once even though I was smiling all the way. Surprisingly he did not ask Why MBA and Why Olin, which I thought were mandatory questions for Olin as they themselves highlighted in one of their seminars on admission. At last, interviewer said hope to see you in summer - which was probably the only positive thing in the interview.
Lets see how it goes!
7 years ago Apr 29, 2019 04:04
Had my interview half an hour back! I was a nervous wreck but the interviewer was nice and tried to build my confidence throughout. Standard questions like
- Why MBA?
- Why Olin?
- What are the three things that I look for an MBA? etc., were asked.
An ethical dilemma that I had faced and useful feedback that I had received from someone were some of the other questions. It went on for 35 minutes... Hoping for the best

I can never really seem to remember individual questions from my b school interviews, but I wanted to write this debrief to mention that my interviewer (who was very friendly/conversational) asked me a lot of detailed questions about my work/daily duties, which I haven't experienced in any other interviews. Threw me off a little, but I guess it was because my job is a little strange (data steward). So, if your job is outside of the range of things they commonly see, be prepared to discuss your day to day responsibilities in more depth than you probably have so far.

I was pretty nervous going into the interview despite researching the heck out of it and preparing as best as I could. BUT- the moment the actual interview starts, it's really quite straightforward. So, my advice is - just breathe. Also, be open to ideas and don't try to take over the whole conversation. If you've ever had any level of experience working in a team in a professional environment, this will be straightforward for you.
We were taken into a small meeting room with one table (where interviewees sat) and some chairs along the back wall (where interviewers sat), and the interviewers just read from a script and told us the time was ours to manage and from there it was all up to us. Our team worked well together and everyone assumed their roles naturally. It was, dare I say, kind of fun. The interviewers watched and took notes the whole time, and I enjoyed the TBD, and as a team we felt we did well.
Afterwards, the interviewers called us out for 1-on-1s. They had a timer set for 10 minutes and that was as long as the 1-on-1 was.
All said and done, I enjoyed the TBD. I also especially liked that the day allowed for a lot of interaction with current and prospective students. This is Wharton, after all-- everyone I spoke to had a great story and truly amazing outlook.

Introduce yourself
Why MBA?
Short term goals? Long Term Goals?
Proudest moment?
Weakness?
Why Krannert?
A situation when you had no idea how to proceed.
What Questions I might have.
Very friendly conversational interview. Got my result within a week.
