I just got done with my interview (35 mins overall) . Mr. John Gibson took my interview. He's the Associate Director of Admissions - Krannert Graduate School of Management We exchanged pleasantries for 5 mins. He explained that this would be the last step in the admission process Questions - Tell me about yourself Why mba? Why now? Why Krannert? Any other schools you've applied to? Short term goals - mentioned some companies in the essays and asked where do you see yourself in 2 years What does your typical day look like What inspires you to wake up and do what you do What did you learn about yourself while leading a team how would your team describe you what are you most proud of Questions for me - asked - he replied and we discussed on the same for about 5 mins. He was very friendly, the interview was really conversational - may be the best I've had in a while. He mentioned that in two weeks I would be notified about my decision and asked me to shoot a mail if I needed to know something else. I mentioned how GmatClub helped me understand about Purdue better. PS - positive about this :) Regards, HK

My interview was during the polar vortex (-20F) on campus in Chicago, so that created an interesting dynamic and conversation starter! I was interviewed by a senior admissions member for 30 minutes. The interview was very warm and casual. She let me know as soon as we started that the interview was blind, in that she has not seen anything in my application. It started off with the "Tell me about yourself" prompt but quickly became more natural after that. The questions flowed very well with our dialogue. They weren't direct questions since they were leading off from my answers, so I'll try my best to summarize the questions she was asking. Tell me about yourself (I used this to not talk about my resume and more about myself personally). Walk me through your resume (Next four questions were lumped into one answer for me since it was more conversational but I could tell this was what she was interested in). Why MBA now? Why Kellogg? Short-term/Long-term goals with MBA. **What role do you play in a group setting/group project? (I really enjoyed this question since it was different) **Tell me about a time you lead a team. How would your friends describe you? What clubs would you like to join? Any questions for her? **I highly recommend focusing on having strong examples of teamwork and leadership since I could tell this was a huge component of their questions and answers they were looking. Also what sets them apart from other schools. During our banter, I asked several questions naturally between these "questions" and provided information in that direction as well. Such as, what classes I would like to take. I asked her what clubs Kellogg offered that are geared towards the start-up industry, since majority of my background is that, while we were on the "Why Kellogg?" part. She was very interested in the companies I had worked for along with the stories I had so we chatted about that heavily. I was able to naturally add stories in that were able to answer a lot of her questions organically with true enthusiasm due to her natural interest. I definitely recommend emphasizing why you want Kellogg specifically and knowing what makes them stand apart from the others, and coming prepared with questions that show a specific genuine interest deeper than just information you can find online about the program. Find a club or professor/class that interests you! Also knowing what you can contribute and provide to their program as well. I specifically spoke with several Kellogg alumni and attended several events to find the answers to these questions, and to create a better picture of what student life would truly be like if I were to attend. Overall, I was genuinely interested since she was very warm and easy to speak to, so the conversation flowed very well and it was highly enjoyable. One of my more enjoyable interviews from the schools I interviewed at! Good luck, everyone!

I had interview last Saturday. As mentioned above, there were two personal interviews - one is with admission committee representative and one is with alumni (second was a bit fast for my taste - too many question in a short period of time). The group discussion was with professor and admission committee member - watch video, has a short paragraph with summary/ It a sort of discussion where everybody has a chance to have a say, but professor leads and directs. No hard data - only opinions.

I had my interview at Emory. The interview was very pleasant, and I actually enjoyed speaking with the member of the adcom. Some of the questions I remember 1. How did you decide on your current company 2. Why did you pick your undergrad 3. ST/LT goals 4. example of leadership example? 5. why Goizueta 6. any questions for me? A lot of follow up's based on how I responded so I do not remember the other questions. PREPARE! But just know your resume and story. Like I said, it was a great conversation.

Behavioural questions where I was meant to reference the work experiences he wanted, based on my resume. Some Fuqua questions and goals but very little in comparison. And then engaging with him in the end may have taken 30 mins. I asked questions about returning to India and classes that were helpful. Entire process took 2 hours which was way longer than I expected

I had a Skype interview last week. The interviewer had a specific set of questions prepared in advance, which were mostly similar to what everyone has already shared so far. My interview went on for around 40 minutes. Some of the questions asked were : 1. Walk me through your resume after graduation 2. Short and long-term goals. Why MBA and why Foster? 3. Any instance of how you have dealt with conflict at workplace 4. What are good leadership qualities according to you? 5. What do you think will be the biggest challenge for you at Foster? 6. Anything that you will like to ask me. My advice will be to just compile a list of questions from what others have shared so far and practice your answers for all of them. You will most probably be asked from within that set.

Overall the interview went very well. Felt like a conversation and not a constant Q&A. All her questions came from my responses and stayed with my resume as the backbone. 1. Walk me through your Resume? What leadership experiences did you have? 2. What was your biggest life lesson that you learned? 3. You had a lot of leadership experience, what type of leader are you? 4. What are your ST/LT Goals? 5. What are you hoping to gain from an MBA? 6. If you were not in a leadership role and was only a team member, how would you contribute? 7. Explain to me your background undergraduate degree (I had a science degree) 8. What makes you want to pursue MBA or move into business? 9. Why MBA to do your dreams/Why now? 10. Why UNC? (speak specifically about the universities Core Values) 11. What questions do you have for me? (talked about the STAR program and DBI program) Currently waiting on a decision, will update soon.

Very chilled and relaxed interview mine was. Standard questions like - why MBA, - Why Krannert, - leadership examples, some things from Resume, Etc. Nothing out of the blue Keep it casual, conversational. The interviewer asked me about my current projects and discussed a point that I had mentioned in my extracurriculars. Only one person took my interview. Very chilled. Very relaxed.

As others have stated, generally a very casual interview. My interviewer was fairly happy to speak so it really was conversational and we'd typically have few minutes of related conversation after each question and we barely got through any of the more standard interview questions. Main ones I remember being asked below. The others were just follow-ons from these. - Walk me through your resume - Why MBA - Why now - How do you handle unfamiliar situations / tell me about a time you dealt with an unfamiliar situation (the context being that I'm looking to career switch) - Questions for the interviewer Notably he did not ask why Booth (this was slightly annoying as it made me wish I'd weaved some of this into my earlier responses) / how do you think you'll contribute to Booth etc. And there was only the one behavioral type question. But yea overall fairly chill interview. He was really happy to chat. It lasted an hour and I feel like if I kept asking questions he would have been happy to continue.

I just had an interview over Skype for a Full-time MBA at UCLA Anderson. Interviewer was a second year student at Anderson and he was very friendly. His cool attitude really calmed my nerves which I had prior to the interview. The interview itself was exactly 30 minutes (~22 min questions for me and then ~8 min for asking questions from him). Whole interview was very conversational and my interviewer was trying to make it conversational as well but I believe I answered too long on some questions. Questions: 1. Walk me through your resume. 2. Why MBA and why now? I had to bring in my career goals first and then I answered on why MBA part 3. Why Anderson? 4. Plan B in case if I end up my not getting my short-term goal? 5. How will you participate and contribute to the Anderson Community? 6. What would your manager say on about some good and bad things about you? 7. Do you have any questions for me? As I said he was very friendly and smiled mostly, trying to help me get in ease all the time. He made a few comments here and there, and took notes when I was answering questions. He had some great stories about his time at Anderson. All in all a very warm interaction indeed. Good Luck to everyone preparing for the interview. Hope my experience helps!

The interview was with an AdCom Member and was very conversational and the interviewer went in blind (had not seen my application or essays). Some of the questions I was asked were: 1. Tell me about yourself/background 2. Post MBA-Goal short and long term 3. What's something unique about you that you will bring to the program 4. How would you give back to Goizueta as an alumnus 5. Talk about a time you lead a team and what you learned. There were other questions but I can't remember them.

A little bit background to understand why NUS asked me these questions: Computer science graduate Entered finance industry through MT programme 8 years of WE in largest bank in Indonesia as financial risk manager (never move to another) Manage a 3 person team Already got scholarship from the bank Applied NUS on 30 Jan Got interview email on 31 Jan Interviewed on 14 Feb The interviewers were Zahira, a manager, and Hamidah, a Senior Associate Director, (I think those are their first name). Both of them are program manager, not a lecturer. Unfortunately, NUS did not tell you who is the interviewer. If you know who’s the interviewer prior to the Skype call, then you can dig their background and interest to gain connection. The questions were: Elevator pitch Why MBA, Why NUS? How can you get promoted faster than your peers? How MBA will help you as a person? What kind of leader are you? There were other behavioral questions but I can’t remember it Which club will you join? I wasn’t prepared for this question Which other school(s) do you applied? Do you have any questions? Overall they dug my work experience and my leadership skills through behavioral questions. The interview lasted 26 minutes, I have more questions but they cut it because they have another interview.

Sharing my experience because I benefited from the debriefs here in my prep. Overall, I think because each interview is with an alum and not adcom, they will vary. Mine felt really low stress. Met my alum at a chain cafe during the week in the afternoon. I went full business dress, he was in jeans and a sweater, but never made me feel overdressed or out of place. We picked a table in the back (Each paid for our own drink, for those who wonder about this) and sat down to chat. The interview was pretty informal - he mentioned at the beginning that it was really just to get to know me and make sure I was normal and would fit in at CBS. He said he thinks CBS has about 90% of applicants figured out pre-interview and the interviews were just to get a real-life opinion. He introduced himself and what he did - a similar path to my goals - and then asked me to walk him through my resume. After that he asked why I wanted to get an MBA and what my goals were. Then he said "Any questions for me while I come up with some more questions for you?" So I asked him questions about his career path after CBS and his time there. His responses felt like a great pitch on the school and we talked about New York a bit. I think he asked me one more question about "why New York" specifically, and then we chatted for maybe 10 more minutes. At the end he told me to be in touch if I needed anything and that he would submit my debrief that night. The interview maybe lasted 30 minutes and only had a few actual questions, the rest was just some talk about my past and his and his time in school. He also gave me some very good recruitment advice and thoughts on where to work in my career. I left with the feeling that it went very well but that it also was almost too easy. I'm glad it worked out in the end and hope he'll continue to be a contact in my career.

"My Skype interview was approximately 25-30 minutes. It was slightly intense. During the interview I was asked the following questions: 1. Walk me through your Resume and background. 2. Why do you want an MBA? 3. Any project which you consider as your biggest success or failure? 4. Why Northeastern MBA program? 5. How could you contribute to the MBA class? 6. What are your strengths and weaknesses? Question from me: 1. What percent of student go for Corporate Residency Program? 2. Do they prefer Boston or it can be any city in US? Suggestion: Keep your stories ready, with every question about your work and background. I hope this may help everyone, and I wish you all good luck!"

Interviewed in person on Haas campus Overall the interview was pretty casual and conversational. Started off with the interviewer saying, "this is going to be pretty low key". I wasn't sure if this was meant to throw me off guard, so I just smiled and kept a friendly face. The interviewer wanted to make sure the time was going to be set for 30 mins, she started a timer and mentioned that she might be checking the timer occasionally. The initial few questions were all the standard ones: About yourself/walk me through your resume/introduce yourself? Why do you want an MBA and what will you gain? Why Berkeley Haas? I had been well prepared for these and she felt pretty satisfied with my responses, saying something like- that's a good answer, sounds like you've thought about it a lot, that answer covers all different angles- good work etc. Some other questions covered: Any managerial duties and reporting structure? Now, I work in Biotech research and its a pretty long career path. Usually people don't get managerial duties without PhD and 3-5 years experience especially in an R&D intensive organization like mine. I explained all this and also covered some other leadership responsibilities I have had on projects I worked on, such as training new employees, communication with other departments, managing interns etc. She seemed to get it but didn't exactly say what she thought of it. What will your boss say about you- Strengths and weakness? Said the strengths and she said, "I believe all of that". Weaknesses were explained too- seemed satisfied with it. What will you bring to Haas? I had been well prepared for this one. Covered some of my personal and professional attributes, some student clubs I wanted to be part of and Professional organizations within Berkeley Entrepreneurship. She said, that answer covers many different things- good work. Two sort of curveball questions were: What are some challenges you faced in promoting a diverse work environment? My company is really diverse, we have a world map with flags on countries where people are from and it literally covers the world. I explained this and said I have not really had much issues with having diversity and explained what I would do if it were an issue. She was satisfied at the answer and said she wanted to ask because she has talked to some Indian Tech people who only have other Indian males in their teams. I explained that I work in BIO-Tech and that it is a little different for me. Looking back in your life, is there anything you would do differently? Now I wasn't well prepared for this one. I thought about it for a second and talked about some occasions in my old company where I had disagreements that could have been handled much better and that I am more mature and understanding now. She followed up and asked whether it affected my professional relationships at work and I explained that it wasn't the case, but that there were just few instances of disagreements that could have been dealt with in a more subtle manner. I was given a chance to ask questions, there was only about 4-5 mins left. I asked a practical question about scholarships and cohort preference and something about possible cross functional classes or projects with other departments at Berkeley. Overall, I was pretty satisfied with the interview and her response to my answers. There were a couple of questions where I could have done better but summary being it felt pretty good. But now I have been placed on the Wait list, so I am not sure if there were any weak answers that I didn't recognize. Will see what happens Fingers X.

Just had my first alumni interview with alum from 2004, and was quite tonally different to other school interviews. He definitely grilled me on all my answers and seemed like he really wanted to understand my reasoning rather than just accept the answers I had. It was a great learning experience for sure. It was quite conversational, with questions building on my previous answers, but the rough topics covered were: He'd also really done his research on my background so lots of questions were company specific. 1. Tell me about yourself/run me through your resume 2. Why MBA, why now 3. What drew you to INSEAD 4. Explain your day to day -> it was a bit muddled but he basically covered: - teamwork - leadership - how do you normally take charge, what are some examples. went back to college days and asked about teamwork from the engineering perspective. - conflict resolution (do you get pushback when you take charge, vertically or laterally in the company) followed by do you think this is the best way to resolve conflicts 5. What are the pros and cons of working in a small company (I work in a company of 14 people)? 6. if the MBA doesn't work out, then what? Why do you feel like you need an MBA when marketing consultancy or other jobs dont require them. 7. Why not a US 2 year program? 8. Why Fonty over Singapore? Overall, it was an interesting experience. His background was totally different to mine (finance vs media), and he kept quite a poker face. His love of INSEAD definitely came through though, and we spent 20 minutes talking through my questions I had prepared for him. He was quite transparent about the process requiring quite a lengthy report and he took lots of notes. Lasted about 50 mins. Will be interesting to see what the second one is like, as it is more of a similar background to me.

Had the interview via Skype late night (because of the time difference). Almost all the questions were behavioral, mostly focusing on my leadership experiences, style and how I would fine tune it to fit the Ivey classroom and learning teams. The interview lasted about 45 minutes excluding my questions about the program. Some of the questions I can remember are: 1. How would you describe your style of leadership? Example 2. How would you use that style of leadership to lead a team at Ivey? 3. Feedback that has helped you become the leader you are today? 4. Some questions on my career progression and the rationale behind changing my job at one point in time 5. What kind of teams do you enjoy working with? 6. How do you handle conflicts within a team? Example 7. Why I've selected my Post-MBA career path. 8. What makes you stand out from other applicants?

Very casual and fun interview with an alum! My interviewer told me to wear whatever I was comfortable in so I dressed business casual, they were dressed more informally. Questions along the lines of: - Tell me your story - Why pursue an MBA now? - ST/LT goals -- really dug in here - Why Booth? - How do you think you'd fit into Booth's culture? - What would you contribute to Booth? - Tell me about a time you demonstrated leadership - Tell me about a time you dealt with a high-stress situation - Questions for interviewer Overall, I really enjoyed the interview! It definitely felt like they were gauging fit and motivations. Excited for the final decision!

The interviews at Foster are very conversational. My admissions officer was great and it was held in her office. They will have read through your application so there'll be questions about your resume and job experience. From there she asked a couple situational questions which led to questions about why I was choosing to get an MBA and why at Foster. Then you'll get an opportunity to ask them some questions. They emphasize teamwork so one of the questions will probably ask how you work in team or group settings.
