Frame your achievements in business-impact language rather than just technical details. Example: “Led cross-functional project improving system efficiency by 30%, saving $200K annually” instead of “developed distributed system for data ingestion.” Adcom will love to see quantified leadership impact, i.e., how your technical ideas created measurable business results.

Talking about your leadership & extracurriculars: Head of Sales & Finance + Head of Marketing at College Fest (100+ team, multi-city marketing). Volunteering via corporate social responsibility (Team4Tech). Awards: “Going Above and Beyond,” multiple hackathon wins. This tells that you’re not just an engineer, you’re a leader who mobilizes people and resources. This is exactly what schools will value.

Connect these leadership experiences to consulting, for example, “I enjoyed analyzing problems from multiple dimensions and driving data-backed decisions, which mirrors consulting.” If possible, include any mentorship/coaching examples (you led juniors, trained others, etc.) show managerial readiness.

For ISB: Focus on India-market leadership, strategy, and scaling impact.
Rotman: Emphasize innovation, digital transformation, and analytics consulting.
Schulich: Highlight cross-border strategy, North American exposure, and global consulting mindset.

Schools care about “so what?” in your stories. Sharpen your post-MBA story:
Be specific: “Join MBB or X company strategy as a Consultant focusing on digital transformation for tech clients” is better than “move into consulting.”
Leverage specific school programs.
Engaging early builds familiarity with AdComs and gives you fresh essay insights.
ISB and Rotman both assess structured thinking, so start practicing frameworks (Profitability, Market Entry, etc.).

Optional but might be helpful: consider a certification to further solidify business-readiness. Build leadership visibility at work, lead a cross-team initiative, or a diversity program.

Hi, Have you received interview invites form any of the b-schools where you have applied?
Overall your profile looks nice, the more important part would be to differentiate yourself from the other consultants/ product managers while showing rationale for the career pivot post MBA. This is not difficult, but something to definitely address in the applications. Being part of the firm's best team is a good achievement- you could leverage this for the essays as well as the interviews as most b-schools tend to ask team related questions. That said, do focus on your role and contribution to this positive outcome.
The mandatory military service could provide for some interesting leadership stories.
For R2 consider retaking GMAT as your R2 list is only more competitive and some of your target programs have much higher GMAT score requirements

You are in a competitive applicant bracket. Your academic profile (3.5 GPA, 334 GRE, double major in Economics and Philosophy) immediately neutralizes any academic concern. The GRE score sits in the top decile for all listed schools. The GPA dip during COVID is not material, provided you explain it best in the optional essays asked by schools.

As for your professional experiences in developing AI driven solutions, it’s a good background but you need to emphasize the business impact your work has had. Each initiative you mention should be reframed in terms of decision-making leverage or outcomes. This is what will define your story in your essays.
Your extracurricular involvement is solid and it will be good pointers to talk about in your essays.

About your goals, it lacks a lot of specificity at this point as you have only mentioned Consulting and Entrepreneurship. You need to provide more context into what exactly you see yourself doing in these aspects. Think about your career progression in terms of how it will build on your existing background and how it will evolve.

You make a good candidate for most schools on your list, it just comes down to how well you can convey your experiences through your application.

Which undergrad university did you attend, and is it a feeder. for your target programs? The GPA isn't ideal, but the GRE score (and potentially courses such as MBAMath) can help offset this concern. Worth addressing this in the Optional Essay as well.

It'd also be important to have a strong narrative on why MBA, why now and why consulting (i.e. short term goal), tailored to each school's ethos.

How adcoms & consulting recruiters might read your file: 3 years of work experience is okay, many top schools admit early-career candidates, but you’ll be competing with 4-6 year candidates with more leadership. 3.5 GPA is decent, and GRE 334 is good. Consulting firms expect case readiness and a visible consulting narrative. Recent trends show recruiting is competitive and shifting; early networking + alumni referrals are increasingly important.

Reality check: Top consulting pipelines at M7 schools are intensely competitive; they will expect either a high test score or exceptional compensating factors (outstanding leadership, deal experience, demonstrable case/strategy work, or top-tier recommendations). Add graded quantitative coursework (microeconomics, statistics, finance) with good marks and/or a recognized certificate to show quantitative readiness. Lead a pro-bono project for an NGO (market entry, organizational strategy), or complete case engagements on different platforms. Have deliverables and impact metrics to cite. Reframe your internal AI initiatives: show ROI, cost savings, time-to-value, user adoption, stakeholder alignment. Convert technical outcomes into business metrics (revenue, efficiency %, adoption). Apply to a balanced set of schools.

@bgr1997 - INSEAD particularly values consulting experiences, international exposure and leadership/ extracurriculars - angles which look pretty good on your profile.

The GMAT score is alright, but was it in line with your mocks/ expectations? If you feel you can improve, it's worth going for a retake and potentially looking at Round 3, or Round 1 (for Jan intake).

I also like your focus within the public sector and defense, which can potentially help present transferable skills to your post-MBA goals. Make sure to have a robust narrative covering your experiences, career goals, and how / why INSEAD fits in at this juncture.
