Hello everyone,

Kindly request you to evaluate my profile for MBA programs at NUS, NTU and SMU :

22 Female, Indian
10th: 10CGPA ~ 91.2%
12th: 96.5%
Got into a delhi university college for b.com. (2021-2024) However there my grades suffered massively. Got a 6.55 CGPA. Post that working as a business research associate at education consultancy for 1 years now.
preparing for 720-750 in the GMAT. building my profile as business analyst

Can a good GMAT and good work experience offset my low cgpa ? Do I've a shot at NUS, NTU, SMU?

Hi
Priyanka here from ARINGO. Speaking about your profile, a 6.55 CGPA will definitely be a concern, so yes, a strong GMAT becomes your biggest equalizer, along with clearer professional progression over the next 1–2 years. Right now, your experience is on the very lower end for full-time MBAs, so you’ll need to compensate with fast career growth, measurable impact, and ideally a shift into more analytical or client-facing responsibilities that align with consulting outcomes.

AdComs will want proof that your undergrad dip was an exception, not the norm. With 2–3 years of solid experience, strong recommendations, and a well-told story about resilience + growth, you can be competitive. Keep building leadership exposure, analytics skills, and quant credibility, those will matter just as much as the GMAT.

I’d be happy to offer you a free profile review for your target programs to see where you stand and how to boost your chances, happy to help!
No pressure, no strings - just helpful insights on where you stand and how you can strengthen your chances.

Hi @tanwan ! Agreed with the above feedback. So, you can have a real shot at NUS/NTU/SMU if you hit a good GMAT FE score (675+) and build experience over the next ~2 years, but you’ll need to be intentional about how you explain the low CGPA and showcase your upward trajectory. All the best for the GMAT prep.

In the past, we've had the opportunity to work with Ms Head of Design, who got into NUS & INSEAD with a 640 GMAT score

Questions for you to reflect upon:
1) What kind of consulting do you actually see yourself in: strategy, education, social impact, consumer, or something else?
2) Are you open to MiM / early-career master’s in Europe as a parallel option to Singapore MBAs?
3) Do you have any leadership examples already (college societies, projects at work)?

You can register for our upcoming Coffee Session on Crafting a Compelling MBA Application for the January 2027 Intake! MORE DETAILS

Cheers!
