Female, Indian
* Age: 24
* 2 years 8 months of experience at KPMG in research/strategy-oriented work involving market research, company analysis, stakeholder coordination, and business problem-solving
* Recently transitioned out of KPMG in April and currently preparing for GMAT which is scheduled in June end.
* Long-term goal: strategy consulting and eventually business leadership/entrepreneurship
A few concerns/questions:
1. Given my relatively young age and current transition phase, would applying in R2 for schools like ISB make more sense than rushing R1?
2. How much would a founder’s office / strategy-growth role strengthen my profile if I join in the next couple of months?
3. Realistically, what tier/range of MBA programs should I be targeting assuming:
* average GMAT,
* good GMAT,
* strong GMAT?
4. How negatively would admissions view a short transition/gap period after KPMG if framed intentionally?
Would appreciate honest feedback, especially from people who transitioned from consulting/research backgrounds into MBA programs.
I got into Simon B School for Fall 2026 but I am sceptical if it is worth for international applicants to invest such amount into MBA in US at this time and considering the rank, as per what reviews i have read people are suggesting to only target T15 - for which i believe my profile is weak. Guidance is appreciated.
Thank you!
