Hi @SKA India. 7 years is good for LBS, INSEAD, and NUS. You are not too old. You’re actually at optimal maturity. Post-MBA goals need sharpening. “Diversified Financial Services” is vague; you need: Buy-side continuation? Private credit? Distressed? Emerging markets strategy? Hedge fund partner track? or Family office? Top schools want ambition and clarity.

Leverage points: Retake GMAT (critical), seek visible leadership at work, lead an investment thesis independently, publish thought leadership (LinkedIn/industry note), and mentor junior analysts formally.

We’d love to learn more about your academic background, extracurricular activities, work experience, and personal journey so that we can provide a tailored profile evaluation and an honest school assessment. Feel free to book an evaluation session.

Cheers!

Hi
Priyanka here from ARINGO. Speaking about your profile, with 7 years of experience working with US-based hedge funds, you have a strong and relevant background for finance-focused MBA programs, especially for schools like Stern, INSEAD, LBS, and NUS. Your experience in tracking and generating equity and debt investments is directly aligned with your post-MBA goal, which is a plus.

Are you looking for a retake? You should ideally aim for 655+ to be more competitive. Your GPA is decent and not a concern if supported by a stronger GMAT. What will really matter is the scale of capital you’ve worked with, your decision-making authority, leadership experience, and measurable impact. Could you share more details on your exact role, size of funds, progression, international exposure, and long-term goals?

Also, we are hosting a live webinar on “MBA Application Timeline: How to Plan Early for a Stronger Application” on Feb 27, 2026 (9:30 PM IST). It breaks down when to start test prep, essays, and recommendations so you stay ahead.

Hi SKA India. I have seen great things happen for people with profiles that are similar to yours. I would also add UCLA Anderson, CBS and possibly Darden to your list. All these schools do a great job preparing people for roles in finance. I'd be happy to talk to your more about your profile. Hey @SKA India,
675 is a decent score for these MBA programs. Depending on your geographic preference, you may even think of a few more.
However, it would be helpful to understand a bit more about you, esp college attended, ECs and your leadership roles.

Also, INSEAD & NUS are both very particular on clarity of post MBA goals.

Hope that helps. Please submit your profile for a Free Assessment over a 1:1 call. https://theivyleagueedge.com/index.php/contactus/

Hi @SKA India, some more details can help assess your profile better e.g. which companies have you worked in, roles/ functions, key achievements, any promotions, extracurriculars etc.

The right mix of schools would also depend on your career goals, and why exactly you're looking to pursue an MBA.

Feel free to reach out for a deeper discussion.
