I graduated with a B.Sc. in Economics & Finance from Queen Mary University of London, where I was awarded a full academic scholarship. Professionally, I have worked across strategy, sustainability, and early-stage startups. Most recently, I was a Sustainability Manager at Perse, a Google-backed SaaS startup, where I worked closely with founders on product development, client onboarding, and scaling operations across 50+ enterprise clients. Prior to this, I worked at Allica Bank on ESG strategy and reporting, and at Clifden Consulting in M&A research. Earlier in my career, I gained exposure to consulting at EY and climate reporting at OakNorth Bank. Alongside my professional work, I have demonstrated leadership through founding a peace-building initiative funded by the Davis Project for Peace and currently serve as an Impact Officer with the Global Shapers Community (World Economic Forum). My interests lie at the intersection of strategy, sustainability, and building impactful, scalable ventures.
You have a great profile for top MBA programs. Your 3.7 GPA at such a well-respected program with the full academic scholarship shows great scholastic achievement dating even as far back as high school. You also have strong depth and breadth in your career to date. What you'll want to emphasize in your application is quantifying the impact that you had on these organizations by showing the achievements and insights gained in these professional roles. Your peace-building initiative also shows amazing engagement and achievement outside of work, so be sure to quantify those impacts as well.
On the surface, your interest in VC after your MBA would seem achievable for your background, but you'll want to make sure to get a bit more specific when you articulate this goal in your application. Explain *why* you want to go into VC and what you want to address and/or achieve in that area. This will help to connect the dots between your past experience and future goals, which will help to make this a more credible path for you.
I'm not sure if you have a test score yet since I don't see that as part of your profile, but that is the only part of your profile that is still a question mark. With your GPA, work experience, and extracurricular activities, you have the sort of well-rounded profile that is strong enough for any top program in the world. Your global experience and philanthropy will help you to stand out as well. It doesn't matter which test you take between the GMAT or GRE so long as you take the one that is more accessible to you. If you have interest in more schools than the ones you've listed here, you should also look to see if there are test waivers available as they may apply to you.
I hope this helps! Take care and good luck,
Joe
