It's too early for an MBA, even if you're aiming for the R1 2027 application or the fall intake. Aim to have at least four years of experience when applying. Just my viewpoint.
Hi Priyanka here from ARINGO. Speaking about your profile, with about 1-2 years of work experience, it’s simply too early to apply for full time MBA programs. These schools typically look for 4–6+ years of strong, progressive work experience with clear leadership and impact.
Your IIT Madras background is a solid academic foundation, and a 7.69 CGPA is fine. But what will matter much more for these schools is: promotions, leadership responsibility, measurable impact, international exposure, and a clear reason for pivoting into finance. For ISB YLP, strong clarity of goals and leadership evidence will be critical.
I’d be happy to offer you a free profile review for your target programs to see where you stand and how to boost your chances, happy to help! No pressure, no strings - just helpful insights on where you stand and how you can strengthen your chances.
